This seems like a high quality belt.I was/am having trouble with the power steering in my 2002 WRX. Periodically, the pump will become hard to turn or just lock up. The old belt looked fine and was adjusted correctly, but when the pump would act up it would slip and smoke.This Gates K050345HD Micro-V Belt seemed to solve the problem -- or at least the symptom. No squealing or slipping -- at first. The last time I moved the WRX the steering became difficult and the belt began to squeal. Still, to it's credit, the grip on the pump pully was so strong that it almost killed the engine (in my experience, most belts will squeal and the engine will continue to idle at normal rpm).Lastly -- IIRC, this belt was actually a bit less expensive than Gates' standard belt(?).
