This belt worked great for my 2004 Honda Civic EX with the 1.7L engine. Gates manufactures the OEM belts for Honda. The only difference is this one did not have HONDA written on it. Just buy this one and save you some money.

When I changed my first Honda timing belt ('05 Civic), the belt I pulled off said Honda in large lettering, and had the Gates logo next to it in smaller lettering. This belt seems to be an exact match, except for lacking the Honda name on it. I've been running one of these belts on my daily driver for somewhere around 125k miles now, with no issues so far (note: it should really be changed at about 100k intervals on the Civic).Inexpensive and an OES part, no complaints. The latest belt I put on a Civic was a Mitsuboshi, because that's what came in the water pump / timing belt kit, but both are suppliers to Honda and there's no noticeable difference between the two belts. The Gates is made in the US, and Mitsuboshi I believe was made in Japan.

Works perfectly but not a procedure to be done by the average back-yard mechanic.A pain in-the-butt operation on the Honda Civic with ABS.I was quoted $673 by the local Honda Dealer and saved over $600 doing it myself.A factory manual and fault code reader saved the day when my check engine lightstayed on after 1st fire up. (I left a sensor unplugged)
