I bought the Gates TCKWP284A timing belt kit which includes the water pump. After 2 years, the water pump failed at about 42k miles of mostly city driving on a 2007 Kia Spectra. The timing belt, idler, and tensioner seem fine. I will replace them anyway since it takes almost no additional effort to replace them now with the water pump vs replacing just those components about 18k miles later. The maintenance schedule of the 2007 Kia Spectra recommends replacing the timing belt every 60k miles. Despite this water pump failure, I still consider Gates a good brand since I have purchased many of their products without issues. At the time I installed the water pump, I was ignorant of the proper use of sealant. Therefore, this premature water pump failure may have been caused by using sealant incorrectly. The water pump comes with a gasket that does not require sealant. A small skim coat of sealant is allowable only when the mating surface is damaged. So don't sealant unless you absolutely have to. Also, torque your nuts and bolt to specification.

The water pump had a slightly different hub than stock water pump which allowed the 2 belt pulleys to be installed on the pump in any position unlike the stock which has a key way that locks the pulleys when you install them. Works fine.

The timing belt kit was a great value. It took a while for me to install the belt and water pump and pulleys. My only real problem was setting the tension correctly for the tensioner pulley. The instructions that came with it were good and useful. I'm happy with my purchase. Glad I saved a lot of money doing it myself.

Everything fits and seems to be exact fit at that. As other reviews have said there is an alignment dimple missing on the water pump pulley connection and it makes it very difficult to get lined up given the tight clearance on 09 Tuscon but this was the only issue.Tensioning took a few tries once i realized that I needed to use a second tool to keep the assembly from rotating while I torqued down the main bolt. Not a product flaw just the way the design is.

Just installed today. Don't forget to order drive belts since they have to come off and likely need to be replaced at the timing belt interval if you haven't recently. The factory parts are Gates and look identical to the replacements save the notch on the water pump other reviewers have mentioned. The instructions say to remove the valve cover and put a wrench on the cam but this isn't necessary as long as the belt hasn't slipped or broken. A youtube vid shows putting zip ties on the belt/cam while you fit everything back together. Not necessary but a nice precaution.
