Much more affordable than at a parts store. However, with that said most of this kit says "made in China" The belts are made in Japan but idlers, tensioner, and water pump are China made. Shouldn't come as a surprise, nearly everything is anymore. Plus with how old this car is that I installed this kit on, (2011 eclipse) aftermarket parts will likely be chinese. Fitment was good, time will tell how the kit holds up.

Timing belt made in Japan- definitely not gates product! Worked great though - until it reached 11,000 miles and broke bending most of the valves!

35000 miles water pump failed very disapointed. Thought gates were suppose to be good.

I have confidence in the Gates brand so I ordered this timing belt kit based upon my past experience with Gates products. When I opened the box I could find nothing that bore the Gates brand. Neither the timing belt nor the balancing belt wore the Gates brand. The water pump was made in China(no surprise).The only part of the kit that indicated it was a Gates product was the box the kit came in.So I don't know what I have. It is a knockoff or the genuine article. If you are looking for a genuine Gates box then I recommend this box.It's been over a year and 6000 miles since I installed this kit. No issues.
