I sure wish I had read these reviews first I bought it on February 18 never tried to use it to march 27 it doesn't work lowes said I can't return it .but someone can come to repair it I'm SOOO SAD ABOUT THIS IM COUNTING IT AS A THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS LOSS

I live in a condo so my choices are few when it comes to purchasing a washer/dryer. For the past 22 years I have purchased the GE white combination washer/dryer. This was my 4th purchase of this type of machine and usually just the model numbers differ but the performance and noise levels are acceptable and the same from model to model. However, this particular model had a stainless steel tub rather than a white one and an agitator that was shaped differently than previous models. This machine is 6 months old, extremely loud with intermittent grinding noises that sounds like gears are rubbing against each other. the precise fill function is totally inaccurate so I just go by the size of the load, it does not drain properly so I have to use the separate drain spin/function after each load and sometimes it just shuts down completely in the middle of a cycle and I have to restart it again. The repair man is coming out again next week. This machine belongs in the garbage - very disappointed in GE for manufacturing such a faulty product. This model is an absolute lemon!!!!

Identical issues as the other reviews, as if I wrote them. I had the same one for 10 years, it fits well. The old one worked well but started making a loud whining noise during spin, so I got the identical new model and basically, it is not usable. Water temp inconsistent with the settings. Very loud operation. Knocks around at the start of spin cycle. If it does spin, it is extremely loud and long then ends cycle with the tub; again sounds like it's hitting the sides of the cabinet. This is the second delivery, the first one leaked at the start, and they took it back.

Less than 5 months later, this machine is a failure, DO NOT PURCHASE! From the first few times I have used this machine, it has given me problems. There is no consistency with the water level. The machine stops in the middle of the wash cycle, and shuts off. Resetting the control, and restarting the machine only results in the same failure. All to often I am stuck with a tub full of soapy water and wet clothes. Occasionally, the machine makes it way to the rinse cycle, but it does not spin very fast, therefore the fabric softener does not empty into the tub, and the clothes are not fully wrung out.GE has bombed completely on this one.It is a waste of time and money to purchase this machine.After reading many, many reviews from other sites, I understand that the machine is noisy. I am replacing a noisy GE. I am used to it. However, I found the dryer to be very noisy, rather than the washer. The dryer sounds like an old fashioned sewing machine, or a little air compressor. The worst part of the machine; no matter what I set the water temp for, it is always HOT when it use the WHITE setting. Hello! Not all whites need hot! I use the "Bulky" setting, with the water level set on SMALL, but the tub filled all the way up. What is up with that? I just had a few towels. Another time I used the PRECISE FILL setting a couple of times, and the water level was at the top of the tub, even though I only had a few items of clothing in the machine.Very imprecise, and probably going to cost me a lot in water, since the unit is faulty. I do not recommend this machine. There are far to many problems reported by several owners, and an exceedingly weak customer service does not help.
