I have owned this machine for less than two years. Don’t be fooled by the description “Commercial Quality” and the 5 year warranty. That description is laughable! The machine is lightweight and gets “off balance” constantly and the clothes are totally water logged. My first service call was within 2 weeks of owning the machine. The service tech told me to “never” use the low water, medium water or delicately cycle. Also, the drain and spin cycle doesn’t work! I have had 5 service calls by the GE repairman. He has said “repeatedly” that it is poorly engineered, too lightweight for the rpm’s, etc. During the last repair call, he phoned the GE tech dept, while at my house and they both agreed that there was no solution to the “off balance” problem. Still, GE refuses to replace the machine.A pulley and a belt had to be replaced when the machine was one year old.GE does “not” acknowledge the 5 year warranty so if you think that will be your insurance, don’t kid yourself. I wish I could retrieve the hours and hours I have spent on hold trying to reach the GE customer service people. It sometimes takes me 4-5 hours to do one load of laundry because I have to rearrange the clothes at the end of a cycle, restart the machine, say a prayer that it will spin the clothes, etc. This machine has caused more stress than I care to admit. If I can prevent one person from buying this machine then I will be happy! I paid $1,100 for this machine and will NEVER buy another GE product in my lifetime and will try to steer everyone else from buying one, too.

Has been very reliable so far. We bought this one because speed queen wasn’t making good machines about 2 years ago. The speed of the spin is outstanding. Really gets cloths spun up very well. It is a machine that doesn’t have tons of options, but that’s the way we wanted it. And I’m not sure where some folks say this is identical to a standard GE unit. It isn’t. It has a direct drive 1/2 HP motor.

Worse washer we've ever owned.....The wet clothes get thrown to one side and the machine goes crazy off-balance 50% of the time. It thump/thump/THUMPS loudly and then shuts down until you rearrange the load.

This washer says "commercial quality" on the face plate, but internally it is no different from their other washers, using all the same parts. We know because in less than two years, ours is about to undergo its third major repair of at least half the internals. We are thankful for the unusual 5-year warranty, although we have to spend hours on hold with every call to GE customer relations. GE doesn't seem to realize they have more than a 1-year warranty, so getting them to read their own specs is the first step in the repair negotiations. Two visits are required for repair - one to diagnose and order parts, the second to do the replacement. This consumes time rather than money, but should not be necessary for a commercial quality machine (it's not). We do not recommend this product.
