Great set of shears for seasonal home use. I'm a Master Gardener and had a client who purchased these. Really liked them so I also bought a pair. They're a perfect weight for shaping shrubs and for topping off perennials at the end of the growing season. I don't think you'd want to shape an entire hedge with these nor are the meant to be used on trees.But a perfect weight for plants like Barbary, Holly, and Yews. Highly recommended!

I do a lot of trimming and pruning of low-growing shrubs, in the spring especially - which, since I used the shears I've had for years, has always required a lot of awkward bending. After a while, my back has something to say about that! Came across these last year, and a light bulb went off over my head. Longer handles - who knew? Well, now I do, and my back has been thanking me ever since. These are nicely lightweight, plenty sharp, and very easy to use. Do your back a favor and get 'em!
