This "throne" was pretty easy to assemble, not too many parts. It does wobble a bit, and the padding on the seat is minimal. Personally, I am not using this as a "throne", just a regular work stool, as I have a very small space. Unfortunately, sitting on this stool for any longer than an hour gets very uncomfortable, but other than that, it does what it claims to do. The price point is decent, and even though it is light weight, it definitely holds up to 280 lbs. if not more. With a few tweaks, I can definitely make it a bit more stable. If you want something that isn't going to cost too much and comfort isn't a huge issue, this is great! I also like that this can fold up for storage if not in use.

Poorly made stand - unstable - terrible seat. My first impression was it looked nice coming out of the box. There are no assembly instructions but it goes together very easily. There are 3 distinct heights you can choose from and lock in with a nut and bolt. The seat also has a bolt to tighten so you can lock it in place or leave it loose to be able to swivel the seat. Next step was to try sitting on it. First off the diameter is 12", smaller than other thrones I have. The seat felt wobbly on the base even though I had it in locked in place. When I sat on it, I almost fell off. The padding on the seat is terrible with almost no support. You can see in the one picture how much give there is just from the pressure of my hand. Now imagine a normal sized adult sitting on this. I will not use and cannot recommend.

This throne is not garbage. For what it is, it's 'acceptable.'What it is (whether advertised as such or not) is a budget throne that serves the minimum purpose of providing a useful seat for you to use behind your Big Box store drum kit. (And, NO... any "starter kit" from an actual MUSIC chain does deserve a different class of throne than this).Anyway, the tripod legs themselves are pleasantly sturdy. So the foundation is solid. I'd say almost above what the price is. But then we get to the height adjustment which is managed by sets of holes through the main post. So... four (on mine there are four) height settings, facilitated by a carriage bolt through the main post. For you youngsters out there, this is technology that probably was used to support the rear ends of the very first "Drum kit drummers" in the early/mid 20th century. When it first occurred to them that one person could be in charge of ALL the drums in a band. Oh AND the cymbals!!! Yes, there WAS a 'beforetime' and and 'aftertime.'Moving on, the seat itself is a socket/pocket that fits on top of the main post. Now, it's "advertised" as swivel, but only if you don't screw down on the pocket with the provided screw. The trade off is a bit of wobble. So: Wobbly swivel or "solid" screwed down seat. I'm actually not sure which I prefer yet, myself...The seat... well It's not exactly high tech but it's okay for your bottom. Reasonable size, reasonable padding.I think that's it really. You are getting pretty much exactly what you pay for here, but at least what you're getting will -stay functioning- at this price point. It's no frills, but it's not gonna fail, I don't think. So... three stars: Does its job, not overpriced, nothing really extra. I'm okay with that if you are.I personally selected this for my (at the time) $2000 Pintech and Roland electronic set. But for the small amount of time I use it, I didn't want to bother ponying up for a better throne. Even better that this one came to me through the review program (you did see the note at the top of my review... right?).Overall I'm happy to have this because it met -my- expectations for what I was getting. I think if I'd actually paid for it, I still would feel it was meeting acceptable price to performance ratio. Otherwise I'd be looking at other brand well up over a C note. Now you know.~Cheers!(On a side note I will say that I've seen some other GearIT stuff around lately and they definitely have caught my eye. I'm very interested to see their brand progression if their goal actually IS to rise in the ranks. Many brands have done it across many of the hobbies and interests that I have... One day it is possible that GearIT could be THE brand to have, and at that time they will be able to charge accordingly. Best luck to you on that, GearIT!... "Lucky, Gold--Star" anyone?!)

Yet another awesome item from the GearIT crew. So far at our practice we have their microphone(which is awesome) the vocal booth(which is also awesome and is at my home studio) and now the drum throne. We are talking super sturdy steel legs with extra large non-slip rubber feet. A nice leather padded seat, soft enough to be comfortable, firm enough to give you the support you need while playing. Now the one thing I should point out that I didn't really pay attention to on the sellers page is the term 'swivel'. This applies to the seat only, that it can turn 360. It does not however apply to the height adjustment like some thrones which are on a screw top swivel stand. You adjust the height on this throne with a pin and slot adjustment. That in fact would be the only thing I would change about this throne is that it would be easier to adjust the height without having to get off the throne, change the pin, sit down again and see if it's right. But that's just me, I'm a bass player, what do I know. I'm basically just going off the comments that our drummer made about this throne. But long story short, yes, he does like the throne and finds it be pro level quality for what it is. In other words, if the drummers happy, then I'm happy. Thank you.
