This is by far the best upgrade I've done to my Prusa Mini+, greatly increasing print reliability when significant retractions are involved. IMO extrusion precision has also increased, and adjusting the pressure on the filament for flex etc is vastly simpler than the OEM Prusa extruder. A no-brainer for anyone with a Mini+ which needs a helping hand to match current CoreXY printers' quality.

Installed this as an upgrade for a Prusa mini.Original supplied extruder had started to slip badly at times on some materials.Easy enough to install, and made a big difference.

I bought mine from Filastruder.com and it came with the latest improved drive gear. Cut my retraction length from 3.6mm down to 2.0mm with a revo micro. Very Satisfied.

If you have a Prusa Mini and don’t have this, you’re missing out. It’s everything the mini should have come with from the factory. Prints were good before and they are fantastic now. This also eliminated the separate filament sensor as a huge added bonus. Easy to install (45 min) with great instructions.

Install went fine. Went to lode some filament and it would not take it. Found out the gearing in it makes it drive backwards. That to me seems like a huge oversight in design. Now I have to figure out how to change it in prusa slicer or swap the wires on the motor. Not happy.

Motor keeps stalling and the tension screw snapped in half. E steps are set to 415 and the direction is reversed in the firmware. Dot buy this... It's not worth it.

Went from a printed IFS Extruder integration from Printables to this and saw improvements in extrusion, noise level, and overall performance.Installation was honestly pretty simple if you watch the videos provided by BondTech on their site and YouTube. You don't even have to swap all the wires as you can technically reverse motor polarity in the HW settings of the Prusa MINI+ with recent firmwares.

While the original Prusa Mini+'s extruder was no slouch, the BondTech extruder runs circles around it. The dual drive makes filament feeding smooth and repeatable with no breakage or filament grinding. The tension adjustment is excellent and super easy to access. One word of advice when it comes to installing a filament sensor inside this extruder - use an original Prusa filament sensor. The ones from Ali E'prss will not work. The Prusa sensor installed flawlessly and has never missed a beat. Having the filament sensor inside the extruder also clears up a small amount of clutter from the desktop.

Taking a star off for some needless cost-cutting that degrades the experience and durability of a premium-priced product. The plastic gear is pretty unforgivable. The decision to rely on original parts to shave off a few pennies is annoying. Including only 3 zip ties? It's good thing Prusa provides extras or you'd be SOL if you had one bad install and had to rework it.Even more frustrating, but temporary and I'm not deducting a star for this, is that you have to rely on a website for the install process (this model is so new, it's unlike the ones on YouTube). I wouldn't mind it as much if the site actually worked, but over the last two days, the site was throwing certificate warnings (having a cert for a completely different site assigned) and now the site won't load any images. So I'm stuck waiting for AWS to be available just to get a set of instructions that could have been a PDF file on a CDN. I'm wondering what the value is in getting true Bondtech at this point if I'm going to get a clone out-of-box experience.
