Our Panama Hats are handmade by our talented artisans from our hometown in Ecuador only using natural fibers and materials. These unique attributes make Panama Hats different from each other and underline their originality.
They boast a laid-back sophistication and ease for anyone wearing it. It is woven from a toquilla palm’s young leaves, also known as the Jipijapa plant. This material is both strong and lightweight with a beautiful natural color once dried.
Original Panama Hats are well-known for keeping you feeling cool with its unique and distinctive weave. These features alone, make it a popular and classic style for tropical and summer travel.
HOW TO BUY THE RIGHT SIZE
Keeping in mind that Panama Hats are hand-tight using palm straw fibers, these tend to shrink or expand almost seamlessly depending on the exposure to moisture or cold weather. These natural variables are normal and choosing the right fit potentially extends its lifespan.
1) Using a measuring tape or a piece of string, record the circumference of your head starting in the middle of your forehead and going around your head approximately 1 cm above your ears.
2) Use this measurement and compare it to our size guide.
Once you have your head diameter, compare it to the sizes available and you are good to go.

Good hat (a little flimsy) but just too much money. I've worn twice and is already showing signs of ware. Maybe at a $50-60 price point it would be worth it because it is more fashionable than the $25 hats, but not at $115+. Also a standard color combination of black strap on white hat is considered custom so if you buy it you own it, no returns accepted.

I had quite a few of these "Panama" hats over the years, some costing as much as $60. But none have compared to the comfort or quality of this one. I was concerned about buying something like a hat online because comfort is very important to me. This one is the most comfortable one by far that I've ever had.FYI: Genuine Panama hats are all made in Ecuador, not Panama. During the building of the Panama canal, President Roosevelt visited the construction sight and was seen in one of these hats made in Ecuador. When he returned to the United States, many people asked about where he got his hat, and the president, knowing nothing about its origin, stated the truth; he got the hat in Panama. The hats hence became known as "Panama hats."

This beautiful Panama Hat came in a hatbox exclusively fit for the hat! It’s well made and fits perfectly. It has a handle so that if you travel it is easy to carry! I’ve gotten so many compliments on it!! I highly recommend this hat!

I have worn this hat all through summer, received great compliments. It held up very well, which was a concern of mine, being a natural grass product. I live in New Mexico, the sun can be brutal here, it survived the summer and I see no reason believe it won’t do so next year.

A very beautifully made hat, from the traditional home of the Panama hat (I saw a few reviews take a star off because "they weren't made in Panama," lol). I bought a large and it fits just ever so snugly, but I'm going to keep it because I think the XL will be too big, even with the added sweat band/ fitting strap.

Bought this to wear at my daughters summer wedding. Very nicely made and very comfortable. It comes in a very nice and sturdy box to protect the hat and shape. The hat seems pretty delicate so you will want to treat it with care.

After being taken advantage of by other online retailers I decided to take a chance of this one. Best decision I have made in a long time. This is a wonderful hat that fits perfectly. Given that I wear a XXL hat it is hard to find a good fit. This feels like it was made using my head as the mold. Fits, is very comfortable and it arrived very fast. Can't ask for anything more.
