I didn't want to risk damaging the perfectly good metal seal ring by trying to pry it out so I didn't use the new metal ring that comes with this filter. Perfect snug fit. used for my 2005 Pontiac G6 3.5L V6 with 4 spd auto 4T45 transmission. Not that the torque for the ATF pan is 124 in-Lbs or about 10 ft-Lbs.

It was time to change the transmission filter and I only needed this and not the gasket, which was still in good condition. This was exactly the replacement part I needed and there were no major problems with it and haven't been in the months since I replaced it.

This does not include a new transmission pan gasket. But it does come with the gasket/insert for the filter. Being an oem replacement you cant get much better.

I figured since you do not replace this filter very often, that I would go with the ACDelco part for my 2004 Pontiac Sunfire. The seal part that comes with this that goes up in the transmission and then this part pushes up into it, was very hard to get out of mine. I scratched up the aluminum housing some and wonder afterwards if I should have just left the original seal and just replaced the filter. The old seal looked fine (until I tried to get it out). It seems to be working fine.It is a little tricky having the whole care raised up, so that it is still level, but you can get underneath and remove the "check level" plug while it is running. But without a dip stick, that is how you have to do this transmission. I used 4 stands on a concrete driveway and that worked fine
