I'm not sure, but I think these strings may actually be made by D'Addario. In any case, Rickenbacker stock string gauges are E - 0.105, A -0.075, D - 0.055, G - 0.045. I ended up keeping the Rickenbacker A and D strings, but replaced the E and G with 0.095 and 0.040 respectively (used nickel wound singles from D'Addario). I liked the feel of the resulting set quite a bit better, especially E felt "out of place" at 0.105. Also, there are a few string tension calculators online also that you can look at to see what this does in terms of overall string tension.

I bought a Ric 4003 ten years ago and when it was time to change strings, the guy at the music store where I bought it sold me a set of RotoSounds, claiming they are the ones from the factory, which is not true. I prefer these strings to get an authentic Ric sound.I knocked it down one star only because there are better strings out there.EDIT: I'd like to point out the the seller deserves 5 stars because he ships right away. I've bought these strings several times from him over the years and have never had a problem.

made the mistake of trying 'flat wounds'. OOPS. THESE are what you want on your Ric. And DO make sure that you have a good setup: from the factory its 'perfect'. swapping out strings ...: my 4003 needed some tweeking when I put back on the Ric rounds: odd? dual truss rod? etc: no, it was the bridge and the way it wobbles. IF you have a 4003: these are what you want.IF you want flat wound strings; get a 4001. (sorry but true: I have two of each).IHO
