If you own a 2nd Gen Tacoma and plan to replace it yourself then I highly recommend removing the skid plate and accessing it from underneath versus the top. There's so much more room to work with.

I thought it would be a good idea to change the original serpentine belt with 117,500 miles on my 07 Tacoma 4.0. The listing on this item said it was original, had the packaging to go along with it and at a decent price. When I removed the old original belt and compared it to the belt from this listing they didn't look or feel the same. Even my son made a comment about the difference. We carried on and installed the belt from this listing. After a few weeks the belt would chirp on the first start up of the day. It somewhat concerned me but thought it would go away. Then while out doing errands I started to hear a flapping sound. Shutting off the engine and popping the hood I discovered that this belt was split and beginning to shred. So I parked the truck and called a family member for a ride. I then called the local dealer and purchased a new true Toyota belt for $66. We then went back to my truck and changed the belt right there in the parking lot. The belt purchased from the local Toyota dealer looked very much like the original belt with 117K miles.I was fortunate the item listed belt lasted until after I had returned home from a trip out to West Texas. If it had come apart out there I would have been stranded and most likely would had to pay hundreds of dollars in towing and repairs. So trying to save what, $8 to $10 could have ending up costing me some major bucks.I'm pretty sure my photos explain the differences between a true Toyota part and the item (belt) in this listing.Oh and be sure to compare the packaging on their listing to the photo I took of the packaging of the belt I purchased from the local Toyota dealer.Once bitten twice shy!A $58 lesson

Nice oem replacement belt. The belt install went as expected. It can be fun trying to keep the belt on the correct pully while moving it to the next position. Also, if you have bigger sized forearms, you may want to get a shop to install it for you. It was an extremely tight fit for me on my 2013 tacoma 4.0.

I used gates for years and those would get all squeaky and fray on the sides and break within a year or so. This one is stiffer and seems to be made from better materials OEM is the only thing I would use on my Taco! Love it so far and no more noise!( I am a product reviewer, I was not supplied this product, I bought this item out of pocket! I do product reviews to help others into the same stuff as me. Reach out to me if you would like to see if I am interested in doing a product review for you! )

Toyota wants over $100 for this exact same belt. Don’t really need it yet for my 6 year old Tacoma but I will soon so I decided to get it anyway. Quality appears to be as good if not better than the original. Happy with product but time will tell.
