The SNVR came with the latest firmware installed from August of this year. Put a 2TB drive in it and connected 8 GV PoE cameras to it. Works very well. My cameras use the most power at night when they have their IR LEDs on and that is around 50W combined. For monitoring on my PC I use GV-Edge Recording Manager. For playback on my PC I use SNVR Viewer which can export AVIs of selected video to my PC. Works great.
