So I've been testing out this GF8 mixer, and for the price point, it's pretty impressive what you get. The 8 channels with individual controls give you a lot of flexibility, and features like phantom power and Bluetooth connectivity are nice additions you don't always find at this price. The good stuff first - each channel gives you decent control with gain adjustment, 3-band EQ, and effects sends. The 99 DSP effects are fun to play with (though you'll need to experiment since the documentation is pretty vague). The 7-band equalizer works well for overall sound shaping. Now for the not-so-great: The build quality definitely reflects the price point. The sliders and knobs have a bit of wiggle to them that makes you question long-term durability. Also, the input monitoring is pretty basic - you only get a clip light when the signal is too hot, which isn't super helpful for proper level setting. The phantom power setup is a bit limiting since it's tied to 4 channels at once. The Bluetooth works fine once you figure it out, but like a lot of things on this board, the manual isn't much help. For home recording or small gigs where you're being careful with the equipment, this is a solid value. Just don't expect it to survive rough handling like more expensive boards would.TIP: Take some time to experiment with the effects - there's no good documentation, so you'll need to learn by doing.
