Number of bells are attached to a string or tied to a cotton cord, velvet pad strap to form a ghungroo. These bells are made of brass and have small iron balls inside which add quite a lot of weight to them. The ankle bells with velvet pad are mainly used for Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi and Odissi dance. Ordered this for my child. Liked it as there is cushioning at the back and the belt and buckle was easy to handle. The ghungroo stay put without coming undone.
