Bamboo Cz Grain

  • Growth rate: known for its fast growth rate (generally around 3-5' per year), and can reach heights of up to 30 feet in just a few years under ideal growing conditions.
  • Germination rate: Can vary depending on a number of factors, including soil temperature, moisture levels, and seed quality. However, with proper care and attention, you can expect a germination rate of around 70-80%.
  • Room temperature for growing: Phyllostachys bamboo prefers warm, humid environments with temperatures between 60 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. For best results, it's recommended to keep the soil consistently moist and to provide the seeds with plenty of light and warmth.

I have experience growing plants... even graphing plants. I cannot get the seeds to germinate. I have tried soaking in water, simply planting in soil, placing in boiling water, placing in hot water, leaving in the sun, etc. and nothing seems to work.

Sprouted these like I do most of my tropical seeds.Placed five seeds in a Ziploc baggie with some potting soil and a little water. Took one full month before all five seeds sprouted. Just kept the baggie and a warm sunny area. I live in Utah. I will transplant once they get a little bigger. Looking forward to growing these in a large pot on my year round enclosed tropical patio.

I tried & like many before me, failed to grow bamboo from seeds. Literally NONE out of the entire pack germinated. I babied these things... used grow lights... heading pad... you name it. If you want bamboo you're better off listening to the pros & getting some that's already established & transplant it.

Wrapped a few in soaked paper towel, put them in a ziploc bag and waited for them to germinate and only one is germinating after almost a week. When I try soak the rest of them in water for 24 hours most of the seeds floated and I'm not sure if they will germinated.

These bamboo seeds were planted in the recommended soil they were nicely hydrated during the process I made a greenhouse out of plastic wrap and it had at least 1 hour of sunlight per day and were planted into the ground barely I began to see some progress but after all the 10-20 days it says it did not grow although bamboo seeds don't have a High chance to grow I would not recommend for someone without researching

I suck at growing plants. But for 7$ it was worth a try. Over 50 seeds arrived around Dec 7. I immediately put about 10 in dirt in a little pot, and the rest in a paper towel. I dampened the dirt and the paper towel and put both in separate plastic ziplock bags. I put them under a lamp because I read about growing lights in other reviews. But I’ll be honest, I didn’t always keep the lamp on but there was at least daily light and warmth. About once a week, I checked to make sure all was still damp. It’s Dec 31. Decided to check on them today and took out the paper towel and little pot. I have about 5 or so germinate with little roots- most in the paper towel, but one in the little pot with dirt as well! I put all back and will check in a week or so. So the moral of my story at least, I’d be patient. Even if that’s all that grows, I’m pleased with this purchase.

The packaging was ok. But as for value for the money not so good. At first I got one seed to grow. I tried different methods. This one was in a group of five that were put on paper towel that was barely damp that was in a ziplock bag that I kept warm on top of my desktop computer. After about 3 weeks the thick end turned white on two. One I stuck in a planter. I used a pencil to make a hole and put the seed in with the thick end down. It has not yet shown it's self. The Other seed that is growing I layed down sideways on top of a cup of potting mix. I just barely covered it with a tiny bit of soil. I kept the cup on the window sill in a ziploc bag like a mini greenhouse. Now it is doing well in a container outside in full sun. I am repeating my method. Two of 4 seeds have germanated after 4 weeks. I put them down sideways on top of the potting mix inside a ziplock bag and they are sending down a root.

I went thru 100 seeds and did as recommended to germinate them. I ended up with one plant out of 100 seeds. I tried again and this time I did not peel off the outer husk as recommended. I instead dusted them with root hormone and planted them just below the surface. I kept them wet and so far I have 7 plants about 4 inches high out of 50 seeds. I tried again with two packs of 50 seeds. The results are showing that the ones I dusted with root hormone are growing (3 so far). The ones I planted as recommended have not produced as of yet. I realize there is a low germination rate for bamboo seeds and so far that has been the results. I did get my best results with root hormone. I did not soak them first nor did I remove the outer husks as recommended. Just a recommendation on how to proceed, try this approach on some seeds.
