I am just not impressed and really underwhelmed at this product. Their pictures are misleading. They show a video of it sitting over a fire but unless you’re going to roast it from the bottom, I don’t see it working in a real life fire scenario. I thought it would be a hard airtight case but it is not, it’s a bag with a good old regular fabric zipper on it that would not hold up to fire or water. The lock on it seems like a total gimmick because you could just cut the fabric on the zipper with a knife and very easily gain access to it. And then in the final picture circled in red, you can see a crease line that is actually the end of the “lining” in the bag. It doesn’t go all the way up to the top, so there’s 1/2” to an inch of the sides that seem unprotected too. The only use I can see for this would be to store all my sensitive documents in as a quick grab and go in case I am home during an emergency. Otherwise, if it’s sitting in the middle of a fire/flood I wouldn’t trust it to fully work.

I was somewhat disappointed with this bag, based primarily on appearance. Although photos in the listing make this bag appear to be a leather-look, hard sided case, it actually looks more like a vinyl soft-sided bag (see my photos). In fairness, with one exception (where it is described in the listing title as a “safe box”), this item is appropriately described as a “bag.” But for the listing photos, it must have been carefully stuffed to create a case-like appearance. And in all but the best lighting, the bag looks to me like it is made of cheap black vinyl, though the materials is clearly more fire-resistant than that.Of course appearance doesn’t necessarily affect performance. As advertised, the bag does have several leaves inside with storage compartments for various items, as well as a larger area for files or other larger items. However, it does not have straps or tie downs to hold such items in place, as some similar cases do.A video in the listing strongly suggests that the case is fireproof in the sense that it won’t burn. Of course this does not necessarily mean that items inside won’t heat up to the point where they melt or ignite. I can provide no insight into this without destroying the case. The case is also listed as “water-resistant,” which I think is probably an appropriate description. However, it is not “water-proof,” in that if submerged, it will fill with water seeping in through the opening between the two zippers even when they are fully closed or locked. The locks on this (and similar cases) are designed to thwart the casual snooper rather than a thief. I believe that a razor knife would easily cut into the case by slicing through the fabric along side the zipper (or, of course, a thief could just walk off with the entire case). The listing notes that the case can be slid onto the handle of a suitcase, a claim I wondered about since no strap for this is visible in the listing photos. However the case does actually have such a strap, made of a canvas-like material, so this claim is accurate. This case could be a useful place to store or carry documents, providing a level of protection against fire and water. It is not as attractive (to me) as some alternative fire-resistant cases that I have, but it might be as effective.

This document bag is very spacious with a lot of compartments inside it. The most important thing I need for is the fire-proof feature, so I tested it several times using an igniter (see picture 2) and it endured the flame without any problem. The bag material is on the soft side though, the sides of the bag doesn't stand upright on their own as they do in the item description pictures. The exterior material also attracts dirt and lint easily.

This looks like it is made of vinyl, which makes me question the fireproof nature of the case. Even the waterproof claim seems questionable due to the zipper. I want it mostly to keep passports and other documents organized, so I’m still happy with my purchase.
