Mine did not come with the beater weights. Other than that, it's a solid pedal with great response. After looking for replacement weights I have read that the weights don't work anyway though I should have received what I paid for regardless. So minus 2 stars for not getting exactly what is advertised. Purchased new in all original non tampered packaging.

I'm loving this,. One problem is there are magnetic iron rods that attach to the drum beater missing,.

I found the pedal easier to attach to the kick drum and it has a well balanced response especially for double toe kicks.

This 9711GS pedal is an interesting piece of equipment. I really like it, and I would give it 5 stars, except for two issues I've had with it.1.) First, the chrome metal top for the batter came loose the first time I used the pedal. Not a huge deal, a couple drops of Gorilla glue fixed it, but irritating none the less. The cap is metal, and if you're going to use the cylindrical weights that come with it to customize the batter, you'll need it to stay firmly in place.2.) After using the pedal a couple of weeks, during a longer session last night, the bolt holding the spring in place came loose, and the pedal became less responsive and started bottoming-out on the metal clamp. I had to stop, take the pedal off, adjust it, and tighten everything back down.Other than these two issues, for the price, this is a great pedal. It is much cheaper than DW, Tama Iron Cobra or Pearl Eliminator pedals. It is very customizable, and comes with the wrench you use to adjust it. It comes with a bag.I'm currently using it with a Roland drum trigger pad, and I also use it with an acoustic 22" kick drum.If you do end up buying this pedal, when you first get it, read the manual and adjust it to your liking, and then tighten all the bolts very snugly. Also check the top of the beater for that piece being loose. After that, it should be smooth sailing.

I was so excited to get this! All of my other hardware is gibraltar and I love it. It's durable. This pedal however, came apart the 3rd time I used it. Literally, parts came off of it. The cap on the beater that the weight magnets stick to flew off! Not very well designed. Hate to say it because all of my other gibraltar stuff is so good!

I purchased a G Class 9711 GS Bass Drum pedal w/ carrying case from Amazon on 02/26. It arrived damaged out of box with the metal plate on top of the variable weight beater being dislodged due to it breaking loose from the glue that held it on. I contacted Amazon and they overnighted a replacement pedal, which I received on 02/28. This time the variable weight beater was intact with no issues.I used the pedal at home on my electronic drum set, which has mesh heads on it, for a week with no issues. On 03/04 I had band practice and took the pedal with me to use on my acoustic set. About 5 or 6 songs into our practice the metal plate on top of the variable weight beater flew off and all three magnet weights went flying everywhere. So I have had two variable weight beaters fail on me. Seems to me to be a poor design to have a small amount of glue holding on the metal plate on top of the beater, especially when there is a lot of force created when the beater contacts a bass drum head.I emailed Gibraltar customer service and heard nothing back from them... way to to go Gibraltar... so I returned the pedal to Amazon for a refund and will purchase a competitor’s pedal with a beater designed to not fall apart during normal use. Good pedal, POOR BEATER DESIGN..

I love this pedal! I can tell you how good it feels to play it! I've had just about every style of pedal from every company you can imagine and this is the first time, since 1988, that I've felt completely satisfied with what I've purchased. My last pedal was a DW9000 and nothing had touched it since, until now. Thank you Gibraltar for rising to the occasion!
