Seems to work as described. However being in Arizona the nights aren't too cold. We seem to get a week of below freezing nights but not extreme temperatures. I did not have a problem with temps near 28 degrees.

This heated water hose seems to work well. I've tested it out and it definitely gets warm, and maintains temperature. Fortunately I haven't needed it in a real-world situation yet, since I typically don't do much camping once temperatures fall below freezing; however, it will be very handy when I do need it. It seems to be well-made and the hose itself seems to be good quality with high-quality connectors. If you're needing a heated hose to get you through the winter, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this one... it seems to work well.Recommended.

For us, this is another gadget for the camper. This is an excellent idea on paper and this particular iteration checks all the boxes for effectiveness. I would suggest springing for the longer version as this one has been to short for us on a couple of occasions. Otherwise, it's nice to have in the camper and provides a level of peace-of-mind in cold conditions.

First of all I'm using this hose for an RV. I haven't yet run into an instance where length of the power cord was an issue. Most RV camps have power and water within a couple of feet of each other, so having a short power cord from the hose is not an issue. We've only used the hose a couple of times, and neither did the temperatures dip far into the freezing territory. That said, just having the security of knowing the hose isn't going to burst due to freezing is worth using the heated hose. I didn't smell or taste anything weird, so the manufacturer didn't lie about using it for drinking water. The bottom line is that if you're looking for a heated water hose, the Giraffe Tools heater water hose is the right choice.

My wife runs a mobile dog grooming business and we're using this to keep the faucet defrosted and the hoses we use to refill the trucks defrosted. The trucks shes using each have a 50 gallon water tank and that needs to be filled daily. We've had in the past used expandable hoses that work mostly well but we've had all sorts of situations where things end up freezing.Ive attached this to the house faucet and then connected one of those collapsable hoses to the end of it. Had they offered the longer hose I would've taken it but only the 15ft was available. Ive had good experience with Giraffe tools in the past so I felt comfortable with the setup I was going to be using and so far, its working out great. As long as we keep most of the water out of the collapsable hose the shorter length and heating function are working well enough to keep things flowing. What I like:Works greatAuto shuts off over 40 degreesHasnt stopped working itWhat I dont like:Heating element thats meant to wrap around the faucet is great but the Y extension coming off the house that we're using prevents it from wrapping around the metal, just too short. I do wish this were longer. Or, if we remove the Y splitter from the setup. We have the Y set up because we found hoses would freeze to the house and having the Y, allowed us to defrost and swap. My wife is apprehensive about going away from this. Im hoping this hose resolves the issue but for now, the heater meant to keep the faucet defrosted is a bit short for our needs.Hose is wrapped in a circle and really wants to stay that way. Id like to take a star off for this but I understand most people are going to use this for an RV and will need it to store easily, so wrapping back is probably a perk. For us, it just makes it difficult to use the entire length.

This is onlyong enough for rv oark hookups that are close. It wasn't long enough to hook up my 30' rv, even though the water port was in the front by the faucet. Assume you will need more hose and get the longer one. As for the heating, I wish it was able to plug in at the faucet side instead of the rv side. I don't have an outlet near my water port, but I do have one by the house.
