I was hesitant for the price. My only regret is not getting it sooner. Comes with stakes for the dirt or screws/anchors depending on your application. So much easier to get around the yard when using it and putting it away. Customer service was also great and easy to work with! Would buy again

This is an extremely heavy duty helpful hose reel although it could use a few tweeks.-It came in very well packaged and in perfect shape.-Installation was very simple, just pick a flat spot, stake it in and hook it up.-The garden stakes are VERY heavy duty and have a metal core. It was much more versatile to be able to stake it and not have to worry about it being pulled off a wall.-The hose itself is very good quality and does not kink easily (even if you try it is difficult) at all.-The reel is fairly tight and does require quite a bit more “umph” than some others to unroll. Although the fact that it is this tight means it has NO issue rolling back the whole length in one go from across the yard on its own.-The fact that the base can swivel is very helpful and works pretty smoothly.-The spray nozzle is very nice and the settings all work as they should but the “switch” is a bit too tight and high on the handle to make for convenient comfortable switching on/off.-The hose holder on the side is a neat idea but as is it doesn’t work great at all. First off it comes not attached and even once you attach it it tends to “pop” off. To hang the hose as shown in the picture you would have to unscrew and move the orange stopper and even then the tension would pop the holder off the side. It would be more convenient if they had a different type of holder on or closer to the top.Overall this hose and reel do work great.

I liked the idea of this ground mounted version with the inputoutput of the hose near the ground so it doesn’t put higher forces on ground mounted stakes etc…. However, as another review mentioned on its second use the retraction distributor belt drive came off the gear. As I had already thrown away the box and returns are a hassle I took it apart and installed some stainless washers to take up the gap and prevent the retraction assemblies shaft from being able to shift over. After multiple uses after the fix it seems to have resolved the issue. Additionally, customer support reached out after my original review was posted and offered a replacement so their customer support is responsive to issues. Therefore, this review was updated based on being satisfied with the function after the fix and their responsive customer support.

So, I was really looking forward to this hose and retaining case. This looks great and the concept of having the hose roll up itself is fantastic. I attached this to the ground, screwed on the hose to my faucet, pulled out the hose, turned on the water, and used it to drench my garden. GREAT! I then turned off the faucet and let the water pressure out of the hose. Giving the hose a tug, and a tug, and a tug, I was able to eventually get the reel to take in the hose. A few days later I set out to again use the hose. Pulling it out of the reel, I then turned on the faucet. I then filled the tank on my RV, to disinfect it. I turned off the faucet, let the water out of these and tried to gain put away the hose. From this point on I had to tug, and tug, and tug, and tug, to eventually get the hose to almost get back into the reel. This time about two feet of hose would not retain. No matter how much I tried, I cannot get the hose to fully retain. I will continue to use the hose and continue to try and get it to fully retract; hoping it just need to work out its kinks, but at this point it does not do exactly what is advertised and what I expected it to do. I will say, the hose itself is sturdy and flexible, and the attachments give no leaks. The thing for me is if you are going to pay nearly $200 for a retractable hose, it had better retract. I took off a star for this failure.Update: I upped the stars to five from four. Although this had the failure as I noted above, I find that the hose does end up retracting the final couple of feet overnight if I just leave it alone. So, the "failure" I noted is really just a small delay in the final workings. This thing is really nice to have and to use.

My chickens live across the driveway, and I didn’t want to attach a hose reel to my stone house so I thought this was an amazing idea. However, my house is surrounded by concrete so I can’t place it on grass and use the garden stakes, which would be the ideal situation. The box includes long garden stakes (12 inches long) to insert into the ground or you can use huge screws with anchors to insert into concrete.The leader hose allows the reel to be 5 ft from the hose faucet. This hose is thinner than my normal hose and not as flexible as I like. My favorite hose is 5/8” in diameter vs this one at ½ inch.I can simply pull the hose across the driveway to water my chickens or fill the goose’s kiddie pool with water. So, I am able to pull out the hose without attaching the reel to the concrete floor, which is perfect, because I can use the hose in other directions too, but once you attach it to concrete, your choices will be limited, although it can be unscrewed but that might be detrimental to the concrete over time.It comes with a leader hose that connects the faucet to the reel. The connection inlet for the leader hose is on the left-hand SIDE, (with the hose pull-out to the left), but of course you can flip it around.One important thing to note is, on page 10 of the manual it says, you cannot leave the hose reel outside, you must store it indoors, so I will have to carry it down to my basement and this thing is not light.I love this reel. Now I can water my chickens and then reel in the hose so It’s not laying across the driveway. Love it so far!
