I recently bought some Ikea Billy Bookcases and wanted to attach them. Ikea's spare parts department gave me some screws, but I didn't like that you can only screw in from one side. Plus, my accent color is gold and I didn't want silver-colored screws. I only needed the 35mm screws and would have loved to have purchased a box of 80 sets in just that size since I have more bookcases, but I could only find this combo pack in gold. Luckily, there were just enough 35mm barrels for my application.

After testing a few of these to ensure they screw together I found some of the treads are not working with the other part. I will have to pick through and work to find matching treads to complete my scrapbooking project. Doesn't seem like quality control took place. Haven't tried to use "oil" with them and hopefully I find enough matching ones so I don't need to. Need patience working with these.

Threads are very poorly cut. Almost impossible to get them threaded together and once you do you can't get them back apart without stripping the head.

These are nice to use with a piece of 1x4 pine to back a foam core or cardboard mounted art using a ribbon or tapestry cord. The brass caps are broader than screw heads, and are well-finished.I used gold and silk twisted ribbon. The Chicago screws go through a knot in the ribbon, then through the 1/4" art and the 3/4". The Chicago backing screw holds ribbon to art and backing board. Then the art hangs safely on the wall with no danger of say, a brass nail pulling out.Nice set, and finely made.
