  • Save time in making deviled eggs or egg salads, etc.
Boil the eggs and cool

Get Ready

  • Your hard-boiled eggs must be "hard" enough to be shaken. The harder the egg, the easier it will peel. You may want to cook them a bit longer than usual to make sure they are hard enough.

  • Boil your eggs for 10 minutes once the water starts boiling.

  • Please put the cooked eggs in an ice bath for 5-10 minutes. For some brands of eggs, you can use cold water instead.
Add water and shake

Shake and peel

  • Please use it in your kitchen sink.

  • Add your hard-boiled egg to the egg peeler.

  • Fill the bottom half of the egg peeler with water and close the lid.
Start Peeling

  • Shake the peeler up and down to drain the water.

  • Approximately 3-5 seconds, you're ready to slide the egg out of its shell.

  • It even works on cracked eggs during boiling.
Done

It takes 3 seconds only

  • You may want to use a brown egg for the first time as you could see the white of the egg more easily.

  • All shattered eggshells will be in the peeler. It is easy to clean .

How does it work?

egg 1 1280

  • When shaking the peeler, the egg-shaped flat inner surface exerts a uniform force on the entire eggshell.

Egg 2 1280

  • The size of the peeler is just right, and there is not much space between the inner surface and the eggshell to prevent excessive force.
  • The eggshell will shatter evenly inside the peeler.

Egg3

  • The egg-shaped design allows the egg to spin in the water at the same time, separating the shattered shell from the egg.
  • All shattered eggshells will be in the peeler.

FAQ & TROUBLESHOOTING

The egg busts inside the peeler.

  • Your egg is not hard enough to be shaken, please try to cook it longer.

The eggshell shatter but not peel

  1. After the eggs are cooked, please cool them in an ice bath (5-10 minutes) or running water immediately.
  2. Add water again and try to shake it harder and longer.
  3. You should not use boiled eggs left overnight.
  4. Results may vary with different types/brands of eggs due to differences in egg membrane strength, if you find it doesn't work perfectly, you should try other brands of eggs. This is not the norm and the egg peeler works fine with most brands of eggs.
  5. If the egg is a reluctant sheller you may have to break the membrane after shaking.

The size of egg matters?

  • No. The peeler is suitable for all sizes of chicken eggs.

How long does it take to cool after cooking?

  • 5-10 minutes is enough. It is not recommended to cool for more than 30 minutes.

Can I use cold water instead of ice water for cooling?

  • Yes, but different brands of eggs will react differently, ice water works best.

TIPS FOR BOILING EGGS

  • It is recommended that you add 1 tbsp of white vinegar or apple cider vinegar to the water before cooking, but don’t worry – you won’t taste it. The vinegar helps to break down the shells.
  • For best results, we highly recommend letting your eggs age for a week or two in your fridge.

Works well. Eggs need to be cooled down.

I can usually easily remove egg shells off of hot/warm eggs, if I tap each end, finding the air pocket, then slowly peel. And when eggs are cold, as long as I run them under hot water, or soak them in hot water for maybe 30 seconds, again tap ends, most often the shell peels off okay. But for those stubborn shells, where you can't find the skin even with cracking the air pockets, THIS WORKS EXCELLENT. Just always use hot water when you fill the glass--it spills out instantly when you shake the egg anyway, but the hot water will assist with an easier peel. Shake 10-15 times (I do over the sink) and it breaks up the shell, so you can easily pull right off. This has come in handy on peeling my cold eggs, and the shell does come off nicely.

What a great kitchen addition. Like the shape as it allows you to put the egg in small end down. Add water, and shake. There is just enough surface contact to Crack the shell easily and keep the egg whole. Can actually do this with one hand!! Finished a dozen eggs in under 10 minutes and no mess, eggs perfect.

Unfortunately it is marketed as an egg peeler, which it doesn't work any better than just using one's hands. I have tried both under water and above water, filled with water, or empty with just the egg. It does not help getting the peel off. I have also tried, ice bath cooled eggs and very hot eggs. Nothing I've tried makes this cute little cup into an egg peeler!

First of all it's cute and packaged well to arrive safely, but the top and bottom don't align 100% perfectly. Good enough but you have to use the product over the sink bc the water will leak out while shaking. Not a huge deal tho.Another review also mentioned they wouldn't work well for softboiled eggs so I decided to test that. What you gotta realize is that this lil glass egg isn't literally magic, it's science. So obviously with a softboiled egg don't shake too hard. 5 out of the 6 softboiled eggs I made today peeled perfectly with the help of this new handy glass tool. 1 egg still stuck to and peeled off with the shell but since it was softboiled and usually at least half the eggs do that, I say that's pretty good. Hardboiled woulda probably made it even easier. Pretty cool tool, crossing my fingers it stays intact and that I can use it for many years to come~

The only portion of the egg shell which loosens is the area over the air bubble on the flat end of the egg. The two halves of the device do not form a tight seal. When shaken, the water flies out of seam where the two halves meet making a mess.

Very slippery, seemed dangerous to use around sink window. Returned for refund.
