For area lighting or position marking. I use these in various satchels & bags, inside because they all seem to be lined in black or all my stuff is. Useful hanging on the outside as well.Waterproof — and they mean it. After-all, it is a dive light. I lube the sealing ring with silicone grease or oil.Not being a focused reflector design, scratches are of no consequence.Last camping trip, just for drill, I dropped it on a line into the lake — depth? Maybe 60 feet.I use everyone’s favorite Eneloops for everything. I use them in at least a small way, everyday. I marked them by batch at time of purchase. I charge a set of 4 or 8 about every 7 to 10 days. About 50 in rotation of both sizes. Since 2011 only 3 have failed. I use MAHA chargers at home - Eneloop chargers in the field driven by p/v panels. Thirty years ago I decided to go ALL AA or AAA batteries. All nickel metal hydride since 2010.

I had bought one of these many years ago as a safety strobe for scuba diving and liked the compact size and simple design. It didn’t last very long. Now, many years later I again bought hoping that there would be improvements. But with little use the one I bought stoped working within a few months of carrying and with little use. They are not durable or reliable.

何かを照らす目的ではなく、夜道で自分を目立たせる目的で購入しました。これ一つで万が一の事故が防げたら安いものではないでしょうか。単4電池なのでメンテナンスも簡単なのも魅力です。

Purchased this for mountain biking. clipped to my daysack it allows me to ensure that that extra visibility when I have to use the roads to get to the countryside. The light itself is around twice the size of an AA battery. and it comes with a simple lanyard. Operating it is easy: 3 modes:1) Bright light2) Dim light3) StrobeTo access the above simply tighten the black bottom cap until you get the mode you require, then tighten. It's as simple as that. So impressed, I've bought another for my mate who bikes 30 miles each day to work.

I already have a number of these some of the higher grade ones on my diving equipment, these don't disappoint they use a AAA battery supplied and only have 3 functions which are easy to navigate through. The two of these I bought are now fitted to the shoulder strap on my kayaking buoyancy aid and one to my wife's.

I bought the original GloToob back in 2006. It was cast out of resin and you turned it on from the top where the key ring is. It used hard to find and expensive batteries. Other than that it worked very well. This new version uses ONE AAA BATTERY!!!! I have another light that looks like a little light saber; works great but uses 3x little watch batteries that are very expensive. The new GloToob looks to be made out of solid, translucent plastic. The key ring mount on top is one piece with the body. The inside is an aluminum sleeve. The battery cap is plastic and has one o-ring to seal out water. Make sure the o-ring is not cracked, free of hair, sand, and debris... If you spend 15 seconds inspecting it every time you switch the battery it should not leak.Twist the cap all the way down and the light turns on. Twist it off a tiny bit and back down again to change the light to it's lower setting. Do it another time and it will go to strobe. The light always starts on HIGH after being turned off for longer than a few secondsLight output is perfect for a marker light. I will be using this as a paddleboard marker light at night and a scuba marker light.

This is a review of the Glo-Toob AAA Waterproof Emergency Dive Light. For anyone needing a marker or mini lantern type of light, there is nothing more simple and durable than this light.Positives:1. Bright and 360 degree pattern.2. Frosted durable resin coating to lightly disperse light (though still a little harsh on the eyes if looking directly at it).3. Tiny (not much bigger than C sized battery) and lightweight.4. Waterproof to a point that it can be used for diving.5. Durable construction that is virtually worry free for hard use (as opposed to the Kriana Krill Light which failed).6. Uses only a single AAA battery, which is common and readily available at stores.7. Has respectable runtime (at least 4 hours on high) considering how bright it is.8. Can be attached to a key ring or a lanyard (both come with the light).9. Three modes of high-low-strobe.10. Easy interface of twist once for high, twice for low, and three times for strobe.11. This white version appears to be very neutral in tone, not too cool or warm.Negatives:1. It is a little harsh on the eyes as the plastic/resin sides are only frosted slightly, which means most of the light comes through strong from the 3 LEDs in the light.Overall, I rate the Glo-Toob AAA Waterproof Emergency Dive Light a 5.0 out of 5.0 stars. Glo-Toob appears to have designed things right from the start, which produced a well designed and functional marker type of light or a mini lantern. The one small negative I could think of was very minor and due to the light's strong output. It really does not take away anything from the light. I do wish they designed a AA version of this light.UPDATE August 5, 2016:Performed runtimes on the low and high modes with Eneloop rechargeable batteries. The low ran for 15 hours before the light went off. The high ran for over 4.5 hours. I am not sure how much longer it ran than the 4.5 hours as I put it in my bag (with the light on) and did not check it for another 4 hours. This is being used as my "micro-lantern." Very good runtimes considering it uses just 1 AAA battery.

Not as solidly built as other versions of the Glo-Toob, but solid enough for the money. Simple and dependable switching. I have been using two of these as night lights during a large scale remodel at our home during which time half of the house has no electrical power. Using name brand batteries they absolutely will run for the stated 15 hours on low in regulation and then drop out of regulation as they tail off due to the battery being depleted. Even on low they are quuite bright. You can easily navigate and more. I would go as far to say that you could do some light to moderate hiking using these. One light provides more thasn enough light to perform basic functions in any reasoanbly sized room. And since they run on cheap AAA cells carrying spares is easy and feeding them is cheap. They do NOT like NIMH cells however. I tried them and only received about 6 hours of light. At the price of akys it doe snot make sense to use rechargebales except in an emergency situation where all you have are the NIMH cells and you can solar charge them.

Great little product. Me and my wife use it a lot at night walking the dog, taking walks, wrapping pipes, etc. Its got several settings from super bright, to a strobe light. The only reason I didn't give it a "5" star, is because there is a way too much light straight up into your eyes causing glare. We made a little cardboard "hat" about 1.5" in diameter to put over it. Works much better now. We like it a lot.
