It senses hydraulic pressure in the power steering system. When pressure is high, such as when turning the steering wheel at a standstill, the switch closes. This signals your vehicle’s engine control module to increase idle speed and maintain idle quality. This original equipment idle speed control power steering pressure switch has been manufactured to fit your GM vehicle, providing the same performance, durability, and service life you expect from General Motors.

This switch is the Actuator Pressure Switch, not the RGS (rotten green switch/rotten brown switch, Pump Pressure Switch). This switch is usually the culprit if your Auto Park indicator light is lit on your dash and wont go off when you shift into gear and everything else works fine. IF YOU"RE STUCK AND CANT MOVE its more than likely the RGS. My advice is, if you're under there, replace both. 6 bolts hold the access plate on, they are 13mm. The switches are 9/16 wrench. Make sure the Pump Bushing is not coming undone when taking out the RGS. Make sure to fill/top off the reservoir with Dex 3 when done.RGS part number is GM15034355 (it may be brown)If this information helped you, give your pet a treat or buy your kids an ice cream.

I carried this around for a spare, just had to use it a few months ago. I found the original having a small leak, replaced with this, and had no additional problems. This switch and Rotten Green Switch are a must to carry as spares on a Workhorse Motorhome with the Auto Park Brake System. Recommend.

Took 10 minutes to install on my auto brake system on my motor home. The AutoPark light was staying on all the time. Well, the problem was this switch. Fluid was leaking through the old switch. Replaced it and problem solved!

04 Winnebago Itasca Sunova - had 4 very strong identifiers that this unit needed to be replace 1) coach stayed in park after trying to shift it out of park, /*as a side note, the only way i got the coach to move was to use a couple 3/4" wrenches to disengage the parking brake from under the coach*/; 2) component had vise-able ATF drops hanging from it under the coach when I inspected; 3) backup camera didn't auto turn on when i put the coach in reverse; 4) 15a fuse blew instantly after replacement. So I bought this park, swapped it out under the coach, verified no more fuses were getting blown and everything was working, then i chalked the coach and reconnected the parking brake.

These switches are prone to failure so a spared should always be on board and the reason for ordering this product, so hopefully it's use will never be required. One could change it out anyway and keep the old one for a spare, though and this is probably what should be done to be sure of it's functionality.

This is the other switch used in the AutoPark system in many RV's. It is one of those items that you should always have available as a spare. I replaced my original and now have a spare. Those that have RV's with AutoPark features know what this is used for but per the description it appears that it is also used for other parts in other vehicles.

This pressure switch is used on my motor home parking brake system and tends to fail unexpectedly. I bought this switch to carry as a spare for use when the installed switch fails again.
