For proper installation, there is a stub (intermediate) shaft that must be transferred from the old unit to the new unit. At installation, GM procedure calls for the replacement of the circlips in the stub shaft. Failure to do this can cause the unit to become disengaged during operation and fail.

I did both sides of a 2000 Intrigue, this being the driver's side. Right away I am noticing that it makes a whining noise when making right hand turns. Hopefully it lasts until I get rid of the vehicle!

This axle is of good quality for the price paid. They are not of OEM quality and my last ones the boots started to crack in a few years. Good to have an affordable alternative.

Seemed to be the correct axel for my 2001 Oldsmobile intrigue and Amazon site said it was went right in no problem about 7000 miles later a bad vibration axel was to long chewing up inside of transmission output shaft week 2600$ later I have a new transmission
