My GMKtec arrived on time and booted up into windows 11 pro without any problems. I used 2 monitors to test if it would run both simultaneously. I went to best buy to add a cable to go to my old monitor which did not have the correct connections. They both worked well together.I found one problem after a week or so that I could not solve. The secure boot showing in msinfo was off. I reset the setting in bios (which was off) and rebooted. That did not solve the problem. In addition there was a new driver that was not being identified in device monitor.I emailed GMKtec for help. He emailed the setting for secure boot (which I had already done) and to go to intel's webpage and check for drivers. I found one new video driver. I just downloaded all the drivers and had them reinstalled. That fixed the secure boot problem. In addition the screen was much improved due to the new video driver.I am very satisfied with the product. It is totally quiet. I have played movies on it with no problems. This small box is replacing my 8 year old dell xps that cannot be upgraded to windows 11. I was particularly happy that it was windows 11 pro as that meant you could use vm's thru hyper-V. I installed hyper-v and created 2 different windows 11 vm's. They both worked without slowing the computer. I also wanted something that didn't increase my electric bill. This was barely noticeable. The box is warm to the touch but not hot. I live in AZ and was concerned about heat. So far this has not been a problem. It is ideal for me as a home computer.

I recently tried out the GMKtec G9 as a mini PC that can double as a home server or light NAS. Overall, it’s a solid and budget-friendly option—particularly if you want a compact device for both everyday computing and basic network storage.Pros:- Preinstalled Systems: The G9 comes with Windows 11 on an M.2 SSD and Ubuntu on the built-in eMMC. It’s handy if you just want to get started without messing around with OS installation.- Great for Unraid or Docker: If you’re considering a more robust NAS setup like TrueNAS, the eMMC’s 64GB storage may not be reliable or practical. Installing it on the SSD also feels wasteful. That’s why unRAID or virtual machine/Docker solutions might be a better fit for this device.- Compact Size: The small form factor saves space and makes it easy to tuck away on a desk or entertainment center. Perfect for minimalistic setups.Cons:- Not for Pure NAS Purists: If you want a dedicated, stable, and simple NAS, a traditional NAS brand might serve you better. They’re more straightforward to configure and often provide better reliability out of the box.- Thermal Considerations: The compact design restricts airflow, meaning the device can heat up quickly. To ensure longevity and stability, you may want to adjust the BIOS fan settings for more aggressive cooling (for instance, kicking in at 40°C with 50% fan speed).- 2.5Gb Dual LAN vs. SSD Speed: While it includes 2.5Gb dual LAN ports—which is great on paper—these ports might not fully tap into the high read/write speeds of an all-SSD NAS configuration. However, if you plan to connect an external HDD DAS, the 2.5Gb speeds could match most hard drives’ performance. If all your devices connect via Wi-Fi, standard Gigabit Ethernet is usually plenty anyway.Bottom Line: The GMKtec G9 shines as an affordable mini PC with the potential for light server and NAS tasks—especially if you’re willing to tweak settings, experiment with unRAID, or run Docker/virtual machines. Just be aware that if you’re looking for a straightforward, out-of-the-box NAS solution, you may be better off with a dedicated system. But if you’re comfortable tinkering and want a compact all-in-one device, this little PC can be a surprisingly capable performer.

I am writing this after using a Mini PC N100 for eight months, and I can report that it has more than met my expectations. Most of the setup was done automatically, but if you want to avoid it, you can start loading your own software before allowing the computer to check for updates. My software consists of a word processor, Skype and Zoom, schematic and PWB editors (I'm a retired engineer), software for controlling radios and lab equipment, and software that helps me manage our home network. There are USB ports on the front and the rear of the enclosure. I have two monitors on my desk, and I used the dual HDMI outputs to spread out projects and avoid having to page in and out of screens I was working with. The troubles came after my wife and I put our house on sale and moved to a smaller home in a retirement facility. In the new setup, audio, streamed or from movies or online conferences, was accompanied by short buzzing sounds at roughly 1-second intervals. I struggled with this for a few days and finally swallowed my pride and filed a trouble report with GMKtec. This where many of the offshore PC manufacturers disappoint their customers. I was in for a pleasant surprise, though, because a reply arrived in less than 24 hours. A lady answered my request for help and promised a referral to a support person. This gentleman offered a list of things to check--several of which I hadn't thought of--and then asked for a recording of the sounds.I provided the recording, and after more discussion, which didn't produce a solution, I was offered the option to replace the computer with a new bare bones unit. Eventually, I chose to remove the memory and SSD and send my unit back to GMKtec. I never got a chance to find out how quickly they would send a new PC N100, because shortly before printing a UPS label, I decided to clean up the area where the computer had been sitting, and I noticed that the power supply was a 19.5 Volt unit. To shorten the story: I had packed things a little too carelessly when we were moving, and I mixed up the power supplies for the computer and another piece of equipment. (The PC N100 uses a 12 Volt supply.) When I connected the correct supply, the PC N100 worked perfectly. No problems from then on. I sent profuse apologies to my contact at GMKtec. Appreciation and best wishes came from his end.So what can I report about the PC N100? I does what I need from a computer. It was easy to set up. And even while it was struggling to overcome my mistake, it ran all of my software perfectly. Factory support? Couldn't be better. Thank you, GMKtec! (Full disclosure: I was not offered any compensation for this report. I've just summarized my experience with the company and one of its products.)

I have various Windows 10 devices that are not upgradeable to Windows 11 so I purchased this with the intention of making this my new anchor Windows PC (I'm primarily a Mac user) and I plan on only using it for basic word processing, web browsing, and activities better suited to the Windows world. This is a preliminary rating as I received this device just yesterday. Packaging was professional and set up/personalization straight forward using a USB wireless Logitech Key/Mouse. Bluetooth setup for my Harman Kardon speaker and other bluetooth devices failed (wouldn't recognize anything discoverable) so I next began the lengthy process of Windows updating (actually still happening) and the bluetooth issue resolved itself somewhere along the way. So, beyond the bluetooth issue, this mini PC has been flawless, speedy, quiet, and has gotten only mildly warm during operation. I ran 5 YouTubes videos simultaneously as a test without issues. The system says it is running Windows 11 Pro, it has 475GB of storage (512 was advertised), 16GB memory, and the N150 chip. I'm on Google Fiber and my speed check was something like 400+ down/300+ up from the opposite side of the house from the router. I have NOT yet checked the other ports (USBs/HDMI/LAN).I'm not a computer geek so I can only share my 'user' experience as I compare this with my other devices (Macs/Chromebooks/Windows) and there have been no discernible performance issues.Wrapping up, so far, and comparing price vs. performance, I am happy with my purchase.

I’m someone who’s used to working with a traditional desktop setup, and so, I was skeptical about how well a mini-PC like the Nucbox G3 would work for me. However, after having it for a few weeks, I can say with confidence that this little box has blown me away with its performance, especially considering its price-point.SetupInitially after I opened the box, I was impressed with its compact size and sleek design. Setting up this computer was a breeze; it comes pre-installed with Windows 11 and the SSD allows for the booting of the computer to be very fast. Overall, the computer was extremely easy to get up and running, just plug it in, boot it up, and go through a quick Windows 11 setup and you’re ready to start using the computer.Price-to-PerformanceWhat sells this little computer for me is the price-to-performance ratio. The cheapest option is only ~$266CAD (8GB RAM 256SSD) and the most expensive option is ~$350CAD (16GB RAM 1TB SSD) at the time this review was being written. Wifi and BT is integrated. You can connect two 4K screens and run 4K videos on both at the same time. The noise from the cooling fan is negligible since it throttles according to load. Generally, in this price range, you wouldn’t find a computer nearly as good and especially not within such a small and compact size. The fact that is comes pre-installed with Windows 11 is just the cherry on top. This is great computer that costs less than some smartphones, yet I feel not any compromise.SizeThe Nucbox G3 is incredibly small, which makes it great for creating a “hidden” setup. You can just stick it to the back of your monitor and create a “hidden” PC setup and if you have a wireless keyboard and mouse, you can also create a “wireless” setup. As well as being great for creating a “hidden” setup this computer is also great as a media computer. Stick it to the back of your TV, connect a wireless media keyboard and you got yourself a media setup. Another great thing about the small size of this computer is its portability, taking this computer somewhere else and setting it up is just so easy compared to a regular computer because of its size. This computer is a great middle-grounds between a laptop and a regular desktop PC. Overall, the small and compact size of this computer fosters many benefits and allows for a variety of different setups you can create.ConclusionHonestly, if someone had switched my PC with the Nucbox G3 and didn’t let me know, I probably wouldn’t even notice a difference in my day-to-day use. It’s a really great computer and I have nothing bad to say about it at this point because it is serving me very well. You’re likely not going to be doing intense gaming on this (although you could do some casual, light gaming pretty well on this thing). From its quick and easy setup to its compact size I was delighted all the way through.
