Look, I’m not saying I tried eating out of the MIYABALA Goat Hay Feeder, but I am saying that after watching the goats go to town on it, I briefly questioned the efficiency of my own dining habits. Spoiler: I stuck with a plate. They stuck with the hay bag. Everyone’s happy. This thing is solid. The material feels thick and durable, the stitching is tight, and so far, none of the goats or neighborhood children has managed to tear it open in a hay-fueled frenzy. The adjustable straps and metal hooks make it easy to hang (I was thrilled to discover gromets on the sides for a lateral hanging option!), and while there are multiple feed hole options, we use it without the velcro straps (which the goats would've eaten anyway.)Also, pro tip: the large opening makes it super easy to load, even when you're being lovingly headbutted by an impatient goat named Mildred. (10/10, would fill under pressure again.)Honestly, I’m already planning to grab a half dozen more. It’s cheaper than therapy and does a better job of calming down the herd.Final verdict: Five stars. Great for goats. Possibly less great for dinner guests, but I’ll let you be the judge.

Got this for my sheep as they tend to make a mess of the hay we put in for them and even poop and pee on it wasting hay which is no longer as inexpensive as it used to be. This bag holds a decent amount of hay and hangs easily. The bag itself it a strong material that looks like it will last a long time. The sheep have no problem eating from the opening. Am pleased with this product.

What surprised me was the size, its smaller than I expected, but It is perfect as I have smaller goats. The hay stays in, so there is little waste. The canvas like material seems durable and the straps seem to be holding tight as my goats like to reach up with their forelegs, and get stuck. The overall design seems to work better than the netting type of feeders. These are on the pricey side, but I think the savings in hay waste makes these a worthy purchase. One thing to keep in mind, there are no drain holes if water seeps in. So that is something to know.

This is a nice hay bag! It is made of a very thick canvas that appears sturdy and like it will wear well. The size is perfect for use in a temporary pen or at a show, not too big and not too small. It held one nice flake of orchard grass hay perfectly. The strap can be moved to clip from front to back, or side to side. The opening is not too big and has a strap sewn across it in a cross pattern, making it more of a "slow feeder" style. I would be concerned that a horse would bite the strapping and possibly remove it, but my goats didn't mess with it at all. If you require a portable hay bag that can be easily hung from a gate, fence panel, or cross board, this one would work great for you!

Qualifier: I received this item at no charge in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.Update: 4/14/2025 - This will not work for a horse. I think it would be fine for a goat or a smaller ruminant but not a horse. The very first time I fed my horse hay from this feeder, she broke the straps in the feeder opening.I don't have a goat. What I have is an elderly mare who has started really making a mess of her hay. She is wasting a lot of it and hay has gotten really expensive! I got this hay feeder to help with this problem. It holds about 2 small flakes which is all the hay I give her in the spring and summer when she has 4 acres of grass to munch. I wish the top closed so that she would be forced to eat the hay out of the opening but I just use carabiners to close it as much as I can. This bag seems pretty sturdy and well made. I think it will work for what I need which is to prevent my horse from wasting so much of her hay.

This is a well made feed bag that is working well for our goats. It is made of a strong canvas. It is not large enough for more than a flake or so of hay/grass/alfalfa, but that's fine for a few goats as a supplement to their feed.Only suggestion is the velcro could maybe be a stronger/industrial version to hold the strips over the feeder hole. Also the design with it open on top could be adjusted with the addition of a flap or a way to close the top. Unless you hang high enough, animals will try to get into the top.Very nice feed bag for the price. I think most people will be happy with this design.
