I love this flash. But there are some things I don't like - so we'll talk about those first. The main thing I don't like is that there is no hot shoe mount, cold shoe foot or way to easily mount a wireless trigger. Because of this you will find yourself with a pc sync cable hanging off of this strobe unless you use slave mode. The second con is the size. This is not so much a con since it does mean better battery life, but it does make it unwieldily since it's obviously designed to pair with a large heavy camera. But the many good things about this strobe greatly outweigh any cons. The main thing is the amazing battery life on a powerful flash. First off let me say I have yet to run the battery below 50%. The flash itself is very powerful and the quality of light is very soft with the default reflector. Also the reflector, being silver, creates nice specular highlights.Aside from the battery and light quality, the menu itself is pretty easy to use and the touchscreen is decently responsive with very little lag. The scroll wheel can be difficult to turn as the knurled texture doesn't provide a positive enough contact, but with the alternative touch screen that isn't an issue for me.There is more to love about this flash - mainly the accessories. This strobe comes with a very solid and well-built bracket. Unfortunately the bracket can be heavy, especially if you're already packing a heavy camera and now a heavy flash. It also comes with the pc sync cable and the 6 inch silver reflector as mentioned above. But above and beyond that, there is a very nice reflector and soft dome available for this flash as well. I've also found those to be worth the purchase. So who should buy this? This is for someone who wants an off camera flash or doesn't mind carrying a heavy camera, bracket and flash around their neck. For an off camera flash, the graflex inspired handle shape provides a nice way to hand hold the strobe if you're shooting with a small mirrorless. For on camera use, the bracket provides enough separation to not give you that typical camera flash look and actually makes it a decent event shooter.

Fun for composing flash photos with a retro look.

I suspect the item I received may have been used, as the button on the flash already showed signs of wear. While I appreciate its lightweight design and how sleek it looks, I found it awkward to use during shoots. When the bracket is attached to the camera, it feels bulky and hard to handle. As a wedding photographer, I wish there was an option to connect it to a harness, but the current bracket doesn’t allow for that. I’d also be uncomfortable and tricky / with risk of damage having the glass and dish dangling from the harness, which isn’t an issue with regular on-camera flashes. Additionally, the light it produces is surprisingly harsh—more so than standard on-camera flashes like the Godox V1. Even at the lowest power settings, it was too intense for many situations .
