Pros:- Works with Godox or flashpoint strobes and speedlights- uses 2 AA batteries.Cons:- was sent a sony one instead of a canon one. Just make sure you get the right trigger.

I use Godox strobes for most of my flash photography and have been using them for a very long time. Having a reliable trigger can improve your workflow tremendously.I owned the original x-pro trigger for my Canon bodies, and it served me well. The X-pro II is a welcomed upgrade unit over the original. It has more features that I currently use but I plan to experiment with to see how I can work them into my flow. The build is very similar to the original trigger but the pro II is a little thicker from what I’ve noticed. It actually feels a little more rugged than the original as well. They removed the flap cover for the usb port which was needed. They added Bluetooth and custom user presets which works perfectly for studio use. This allows you to have a custom preset that automatically sets your power levels and modes for specific lighting setups that you may use frequently.I did notice something weird in a recent shoot while using this trigger on the canon and using the original x-pro on the fujifilm. If both triggers are powered on, which ever I use first will shoot flawlessly, but if I start shooting with the other camera then it will only fire the strobes like 1 in 5 times. I would then have to turn off both triggers and power one while shooting. Not sure why this kept happening but I did discover that this only happened while both triggers were powered on and being used. I never had this problem when all triggers were the x-pro, but it is not a serious obstacle to overcome. Now I await the day for Godox to make the ultimate universal trigger. I’d happily pay $200 for that but until then I will continue to enjoy this amazing trigger.

Tis true, folks. If you have some strange dreams of stepping on Canon's proprietary toes by trying to connect this Godox trigger to your 600EX-II RT or 430EX-III RT, keep dreaming. Canon Speedlites use a proprietary communication system which they don't want to share. With anyone.Sigh.Now, we can all argue for "open source" until we're blue in the face. But this is reality, and here we are. So the truth is, if you're heavily invested in a bunch of Canon Speedlites, you may as well move on and pat your ST-E3-RT.This review is geared towards that may be considering upgrading to a wireless flash setup and is now faced with the question "Which brand?"If you have a Canon camera and have not yet invested in Canon Speedlites, my advice to you is...DON'T. My advice to you is stick with 1 of 2 brands. If you want to go full pro cover of Vogue magazine full photo shoots with Taylor Swift...you will want to invest in Pro Foto gear. Period, end of story. If you aren't scrambling to be the top of the photographic world, my recommendation to you is invest in the Godox light system, starting with this X Pro II trigger. Why?Let me ask you this. How many radio-capable flashes does Canon make? 2. The 600 and 430. 2 whole flashes. And they're uninspiring flashes at that, for the money you spend for them. How many radio-capable flashes does Godox make that uses their X radio system?Let's count them off.The V-1; The V860II; The V860III; The TT350; The AD200 Pro; The TT685; The AD600 Pro; The MF-R76; The AD-360II; The AD600B; The AD400 Pro...That's like 11 different X radio lights. That's all I found just with a quick search. I'm sure more are either out there or in development right now.How many did Canon have again? Oh yeah. 2.Personally, I invested in 600 EX-II's (3 of em) and wish I never had.Go with Godox. Start with this transmitter. It's BRILLIANT. I wish it was rechargeable...but...I'll live with it. And pick your lights of choice from Godox's vast collection. Canon cameras? Great. Canon flashes? Bleah. If you put your money here, you can't go wrong.

Quite easy to setup and use. I had the original version but unfortunately I lost it. Replacement was necessary. It works great. I like the Bluetooth and phone app functionality. Very helpful.
