I've had many of my outserts break right at the end of the arrow shaft (generally the result of a botched shot at a chipmunk--they burrow under my patio and must be destroyed), so I finally gave up and bought some of these. I suppose the better reason to buy them is to add some mass and improve the FOC of your arrow, but for me, I was hoping for some extra protection. I haven't had them too long, but I have hit a few stumps and have not had any more breaks.Another nice thing is that these add a bit of width to your arrow. If you're shooting GT kinetic 200s, like me, you can now use the more common 5/16" field point instead of the 9/32". Maybe that's not a big deal if you've only ever shot kinetics, but I have mountains of 5/16" tips from my previous arrows that were sitting sadly in a tool box.Anyway, I'm now a believer. I'll be adding these to all my arrows from now on. It takes me about 2 years to lose or break a dozen arrows, so it's not even really that much of an added expense.

These add extreme durability and FOC to my Kinetic shafts and they are pulling from the foam target with ease!
