6 INCH MOC TOE WEDGE PRO
The U-shaped toe design, found in the Moc Toe Wedge, derives from the Native American Moccasin, welding two pieces of leather together and forming a braided-looking design around the toe box. The style dates back to the 1900's when hunters and farms would wear these boots for work and sport. Over time, jobs became more industrialized and the Moc Toe Wedge was soon adopted and put to work in the construction field.
Oil-Tanned Full Grain Leather Uppers
The Full Grain Leather that we use for the uppers is soft and supple, requiring less time to break in. Full Grain is one of most premium, durable hides you can have for your boots. The tight grain patterns on Full Grain make the uppers considerably water repellent and durable against the elements.
Lightweight & Durable
When a boot comes to mind, it is a common misperception to imagine something heavy and bulky. With the Moc Toe Wedge, this no longer holds true. We combined a lightweight, durable Polyurethane Outsole to enhance the comfort and maximize longevity. The compound of our Polyurethane Outsole is resistant to oil and chemical erosion found in most job sites. The tread pattern for this boot holds a very important safety feature for workers in construction; because the outsole lacks complicated grooves, workers can walk freely without tripping over a rivet or having to deal with mud clinging onto the boot.
Design & Workmanship
Goodyear Welt Construction
The 6" Moc Toe Wedge is Goodyear Welt Constructed. This construction method creates a superior bond between the uppers and the outsole. Known to be one of the strongest and labor intensive ways to make a shoe, Goodyear Welt prevents sole separation and allows your boots to be resole-able.
Steel Shank
Steel shanks provide extra support around the arch of your foot. Shanks help alleviate the pressure caused by standing on rigid, uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, or kicking a shovel. Not only do shanks provide comfort, they can help protect your feet from being punctured.
Insulated
The boots are lined with a moisture wicking fabric that is breathable and provides insulation during cold conditions. The lining supports the shaft and allows the boot to hold its shape longer compared to unlined boots.

Recently received my second pair of these boots in black, my first pair was the tan. After trying many boots on the market these are by far the most comfortable. They are really durable, true to size and a pleasure to wear day after day. I would highly recommend these to anyone thinking about them. And on top of all that their customer service is second to none so buy with confidence, you won't be dissapointed.

I recently purchased the Golden Fox Men's Romeo Chelsea and in that review I mentioned I was going to by a Moctoe and I did, this one. I was very impressed with what I got. Now it was not instant comfort like the Romeo Chelsea it needed breaking in more so than they did. The usual spots like the instep area and the collar hit my ankle in a way that was a bit uncomfortable, but I never use the last eyelet, so the collar was not going to be an issue in the long run. I laced them all the way up just because it was my first wear. The toebox I thought would be an issue because I prefer a wide one, but it turned out perfect. The came the best part everyday they wore better not weeks but days and most of my concerns started going away. I did not buy these as work boots but as casual boots with jeans, but I did some light work in them setting up sound for a gathering in a venue. I crawled around on the floor, stage setup and such, they felt very good. This morning I put a little dab of oil on them and rubbed in and Wow! It went from that slightly pleathery look to a rich, obviously leather look. It was a very tiny change in the deepness of its color, but it made all the difference, and they feel well conditioned baseball mitt. They are now my daily wear.

I bought the black and white. One size smaller than my shoe size and they fit perfect. I've been using them for 2 months now and they're holding up well for general work use. I wear them out fishing as well. All around good boot, quite comfortable. I'll update this if they fall apart prematurely.

These boots deliver fully on their promise. Tough and comfortable and kind of beautiful, in that stylistic throw down way of work boots as fashion. I love 'em. size down by .5.

The boots are great! The price is great! They are super comfortable! I’m on my feet all day and these boots offer great comfort and stability! Plus they look great! The more you wear them the better they Look! If you’re on a budget and can’t afford some $250 plus moc-toes these are a great alternative!The break in process was Rough I was thinking of returning them but after 2 days they were good to go and I love them and wear them as often as I can!I would recommend to size down either a half or a full size down as they come a bit big. I wear an insole for my back and it filled in the boot perfectly with just sizing down a half number.

I really wanted to try these boots mostly out of curiosity. The price is right, and the company has a good reputation. I've had both Red Wing Heritage, and Thorogood mocs. I had to sell my Red Wings because they were absurdly heavy even for a heritage boot. And The Thorogood mocs I had in Black so they just never made it into the rotation that often. Comfort wise Red Wings are a draw with Thorogood if you have the patience to break in Red wings, but TG are better out the box. These GOLDEN FOX boots were A+. Literally zero break in time, and are super comfortable after a few months. For me personally I love the weight. I have MS and my left leg is partially paralyzed so weight is really an issue when it's hard to lift your barefoot. They almost wear like a sneaker, but don't take that the wrong way. They are a very sturdy boot. I am a size 10.5 in both RW and TG, but had to size down to a 10 with these. They run a full size big, This unlined Copper pair is supposed to be the lightest they offer, and it definitely feels that way to me. Another reason I pulled the trigger on these is they finally made an unlined version, BUT it only comes in the Copper color. If you want to resole a goodyear welted boot years later a lined boot is most likely going to be shredded on the inside with all the fabric/padding. So they are moving in the right direction by having unlined options. The original lined Golden Fox Moc have a pretty decent oil tanned leather. This Copper color looks painted on. It's just flat plasticy and unappealing in hand. So after a few weeks I decided to strip them with Renomat, and then doubled down with Saddle Soap. Once I got rid of that flat weird color, and moitsuized with some Lexol. They look waaaaay better. When you push, or scratch the leather you can now see it act like full grain leather. I am happy with the way they look now, and I think they will take on a nice natural patina opposed to the waxy Copper color. The crepe sole has more traction than both the Red Wings, and Thorogood. They call it Rubberlon. As far as sole durability I can't say yet because it's only been a few months. The uppers will last years. The only other downside besides the color I can think of is they have a synthetic welt. Some sort of plastic that could maybe crack, and make re-soling more expensive if it has to be replaced with something natural. Overall now that the uppers are looking better I'd be willing to pay for a resole for the same price as a new pair. Re-use recycle, and all that. If they make more unlined options I'll pick them up for sure. I might go with their Bondocker next because it's getting great reviews. You just can't beat this boot for this price. I highly recommend!

These are really great quality boots. I got a size 12 and they fit large. I've waited to long to return them and so I'm probably going to try and sell for size 11 or 11.5.The boots are heavy and would be hot in summer I imagine. I'd like to wear them more in winter but I think salt and slush will wreak havoc on them. May just stick to spring and fall, which is a shame given the price of them.One other thing. These do not fit under jeans if you wear slim jeans. They are very chunky.Very solid construction however.

updated:I purchased three different “color” options. Here is what I noticed:1. Brunn and Brun-m6 are practically identical. The major difference noted is the stitching color on the mock toe stitch. The Brunn has black stitching whereas the Brun-m6 has color matched stitching.These both have a full leather tongue without a centering loop for the laces.Logo is a fox on the lateral side (out facing) of the boot.Laces are too short.The welt seems to be plastic or some other non leather material.This boot is made of leather that feels stiff and will need broken in.2. The Rust-6301 boot is built with a different pattern for the uppers and have a through stitch instead of an over stitch on the moc toe seam. Light, almost white colored thread.The tongue is suede and has a centering loop for the laces.Logo is stamped into the leather at the top of the tongue.The laces are the correct length needed.The welt is actually leather.This boot is made of soft and supple leather that feels broken in.**half size smaller fit best.Ultimately I returned all the GF boots I purchased. I couldn’t decide if I liked them and went with a different boot maker.
