There is much to like about this product. Indeed, I awaited its arrival with great anticipation. Except for one fatal flaw, it works very well. The problem is with the foundation for the 1/4" bolt. If the GoLow is attached to, say, a gimbal, then provided the method of attaching is to turn the GoLow upside down and rotate its thread into the Gimbal, then it works fine. However, if one places the GoLow on a surface and then attempts to screw the Gimbal down onto the Golow thread, then expect problems. Unless the thread interface is aligned perfectly, then attempting to rotate the Gimbal into place can force the 1/4" bolt down into the GoLow. threatening to punch it through the bottom and leaving little if any thread actually engaged with the Gimbal, and distorting the base. I believe this to be a design fault. The foundation for the bolt within the GoLow needs to be improved. If this would happen, I would score it 5 stars.

Only 4 stars because it came in an envelope and the large was pushed in, nearly tearing the underside grip apart. It did not make a good first impression but after using it, it’s light and sturdy.Note: this is not the dish you want for “sliding” around with the soft grip underneath. Although one could try to remove it and clean the glue - at that point , may be better to go for home made.

Surprised by how light and low this is. My Canon R3 and EF 400mm f2.8 is stable on it. Love the material they put on the bottom. Definitely doesn't slide on my desk like the one it replaced. Not sure about the point of the coating on the sides, though. Only real complaint is the soft packaging it ships in. The bolt on mine had started to tear through the shipping bag.
