I rarely leave reviews, but I had to for this. Meeted, but mostly exceeded every expectation I had for it. The quality, craftsmanship, & durability of this item is excellent. If your thinking of buying a Good Directions weather vane, pull the trigger & do it. Every time I go outside the house or coming home I love to look at it not for the wind but being a work of art.

Pricey but worth it. Bought this last Christmas for my wife. When our new shed was built, I had the guys add this to the roofline - about 25 feet off the ground, it points into the prevailing wind, and flashes in the sunlight.

This weather vane is everything we expected. It looks great with the sun reflecting off of its bright copper finish atop our barn. Over time, a nice green patina is expected. The weather vane arrived in good condition, but was missing an important brass ring that holds part of the weather vane on its mounting rod. We contacted Good Directions by phone and a part was in our hands in less than a week. It is well constructed with strong welds between the copper horse and brass arrow (a problem with our old weather vane...the horse fell off repeatedly) We anticipate enjoying this weather vane for many years to come.

The dove weathervane I purchased from Good Directions is also described as made of polished copper. When mine arrived I was a bit disappointed to see what looked like a thin copper plating over a black metal of some sort. An enclosed card said , "Made of copper and brass for beauty and longevity." Maybe most people know that some brass is black and polished copper is another term for what looks like a thin copper plating on brass. So I guess I'm writing this for those who don't.
