This is a great Go Pro. It’s small in size and easy to use. The quality of the video is outstanding

Great camera with awesome quality video. Tons of customizable settings that make getting great video possible to amateur point-and-shoot as well as more advanced videographers. The only complaint that I have about these cameras is that they overheat and shut off too easily when shooting at 4K or higher. A workaround is to purchase an aluminum frame that allows you to remove the battery door and holds the battery in place which allows more ventilation. Alternatively, using an external battery pack (which is what GoPro suggested I do). Unfortunately, both options negate the waterproof feature.

By all means this would be a 5-star product with a major fault. I can take photos and videos and view both on the GoPro 13's 2-inch screen. I can view the photos on a Windows 7 desktop and on a Chromebook, attached to a 32 -inch monitor. Watching the videos in my setup is impossible. The GoPro 13 saves video files in a H.265 format and neither of my computers supports it. The highly-recommended VLC video player shows the very first clip from the video and stops right there. In the last 15 years I took videos with a full frame Nikon DSLR, with 2 different Sony cameras, and with 2 different Samsung phones. All of the above can be watched on the Windows 7 PC or the the Chromebook. Not the GoPro.I was ready to return or trash the GoPro 13. But finally, after researching my options and trying several video players I found one to do the trick. It is called the MX video player, a free download. I must remove the memory card, stick it in reader, plug it in the Chromebook, select the file, and right click to play with MX player. I'm still fighting with the Windows 7.I wish GoPro had some sort of warning about the issue and offer a solution on their website. It would take someone a few minutes to explain it and attach a link. Shame on GoPro, here is my 1 star review. Suck on it.As a side note, we had more than 2 dozen different cameras in the last 45 years and they all worked right away fresh out of the box before "activation required." But that is another hassle you probably heard of.Update: I give it 2 stars now with a warning. We did order a terrific new Chromebook from Amazon and this one plays all GoPro videos immediately, fresh out of the box with their own Gallery app. Highly recommend it. The new laptop is called an Acer 516 GE Gaming laptop, 16 GB ram and 256 GB SSD hard drive, Intel Core i5 processor, 16-inch screen, $ 599 on Amazon.I'm still mad at GoPro for not advising their prospective customers about the need to play back the recordings on a high powered late model computer.

Bought it with minimal research for a vacation where we did hiking, helicopter rides, tours and snorkeling. It worked for me without any issues. It's a touch pricey. A 1tb sandisk memory card was good for the week. With little time for research, I bought GoPro accessories. They all worked well: clear box to protect the camera, folding selfie stick, floating hand hold, batteries. No complaints, would buy it all again.I haven't spent much time with editing the video yet, so nothing so say about that.
