Easy to wear, set-up and use, even with skiing gloves.

Paired easily with my GoPro 8. Will provide a safer way for me to start and stop my camera while riding my motorcycle in interesting places.

Mixed feelings. It's very useful, but...I used it with TWO gopro hero 7s and a Hero 5 Black. Followed instructions from youtube. It worked flawlessly at first. Connected easily and for the most part, it stayed connected. Then 72 hours later, when I was prepping to actually use it the night before a real-world project..... it was dead. Wouldn't charge. Wouldn't even power up. Ended up not being able to use it for the project that I bought it for.FIX #1: I had to dismantle it, clean all contacts with rubbing alcohol, and then put dielectric grease on all metal contacts to block corrosion or other contamination. Worked temporarily.FIX2: Dismantled it again, then used aluminum foil to add spacers to the charging port internal contacts on the inside of the device.Now it's working perfectly. For a few months now....on multiple projects. Reliably so. I love how useful it is. But? I never had it working for the original project that I needed it for. Would I buy it again? Probably would. Because it really is value for money when it's tweaked and working correctly.If you buy one, just be prepared to do the aluminum foil fix. Micro torque bit required.

My review of the Go Pro Smart RemoteI purchased this to work in conjunction with my Go Pro Hero 5 Black digital camera. As pictured, it arrived on time and in retail packaging. I purchased the camera to record the travels I take on my motorcycle. I have the camera mounted on my motorcycle helmet.Since the camera was mounted on my helmet, I could never tell if it was recording or in what mode it was set to. I came back from one short ride and discovered when I powered on the camera, I had accidentally changed it from video to time lapse and I actually had over 750 time lapse photos instead of video.I decided it was time to give the Go Pro Smart Remote a try. As it turned out, it was a smart decision. When the remote arrived, I charged it up for a few hours. Sorry, but I didn't time how long it took to reach full charge. Following the included instructions, pairing the remote with my camera was a snap.Once it was paired, it was time to give it a test run. Using the remote, I powered on the camera. It took a few seconds after the camera was turned on for the remote and camera to connect via the cameras WiFi.Once it did, I could see from the screen on the remote that the camera was set to Video mode and what video settings were in effect. I pressed the record button and heard the camera beep and start recording. A red light on the remote began blinking, indicating it was recording. Pressing the record button a second time resulted in the red light turning off and I could hear the camera beeping indicating it had stopped and was saving the recording.I did this several times and both the remote and camera functioned perfectly. Using the included key ring, I attached the remote to a lanyard which I placed around my neck and went for a test ride. As expected, it functioned exactly how I wanted it to.You can control up to 50 Go Pro cameras from an optimal distance of 600 feet or 188 meters. Unfortunately though you can only control one camera at a time. It is also supposed to be water proof up to 33 feet or 10 meters. I'll have to take Go Pro's word for it though, since I only have 1 camera and don't intend to take it deep sea diving.I would caution anyone who might be considering purchasing one of the less expensive knock off remotes you find online. Some only function to turn the camera Off, not On. Would you but a remote control for your TV that only turns it Off, but not On? Silly huh......I would have liked the charging cable to be a little longer but that certainly isn't a blemish on the product or my rating. I'm extremely happy with this purchase.

Great product

I bought this to use when I am kayaking. My gopro is mounted on the front of my kayak beyond arms reach, and it isnt easy to use a phone and paddle at the same time. This was the perfect solution. It is very easy to use and paired with my gopro seamlessly.The only negative thing is that the battery life is somewhat short. I wish it had removable batteries like the gopro so I could switch them out. Once the batteries are down, it has to be plugged in.One other negative that won't apply to everyone is that the wrist strap that was included is quite large. I have small wrists, and I have to strap it around my forearm or it moves up and down my arm. So if you have small wrists, be aware that if may no fit snugly.

J’ai acheté cette télécommande principalement pour réaliser des films en roulant en trottinette électrique.En la fixant près de la poignée du guidon (fixation perso provenant d’un phare de vélo), cela permet de déclencher la caméra qui est fixée en bas de la trottinette, sans lâcher le guidon (extrêmement dangereux).Cela permet de déclencher la caméra seulement lorsqu’il y a un intérêt à filmer, ainsi je n’ai pas au montage du film, 36h à dérusher (monter) comme lors d’un enregistrement en continu.De cette manière,  la carte mémoire n’a pas besoin d’être énorme et la caméra consomme moins de batterie puisqu’elle ne filme pas tout le temps (il est même possible d’éteindre la caméra avec tout de même une légére consommation de la batterie dû au WIFI qui consomme).Très important... comme la caméra n’est pas dans mon visuel lorsque je roule, l’écran LCD permet de contrôler avec certitude que  l’enregistrement a bien commencé, tout en indiquant la durée de celui-ci.La télécommande permet de changer les modes (photo/vidéo) et les paramètres de la caméra. Cette fonction est très pratique car elle permet de ne pas avoir à dérégler l’angle de vue de la caméra pour changer de mode ou de paramètre.Elle est étanche à la poussière et aux projections d’eauIl est possible de charger la télécommande quand elle est connectée à une caméra.Je l’utilise régulièrement avec 2 caméras, et la synchro est très facile à réaliser.Les moins : j’aurais préféré une prise de charge standardProduit indispensable pour filmer mes randonnées

Works great!! I'm glad I got it. I can have the Camera mounted on the front of my boat facing aft and start recording and stopping with out climbing up front to the camera....etc A real hassle without the remote. It makes it so much easier to get those shots you want. opens it up wide open on possibilities.

If you use your camera when you skiing and it is attached to your helmet or doing something when camera is not easy reachable then you need this definitely. It came with holding strap but I just attached to my skiing jacket using expandable lanyard on provided hook and doesn't have to worry anymore.I didn't have problem to start camera even when I had my skiing glows on (and camera was attached to helmet).Working perfectly, providing remote control on many camera's function without actually touching camera. Also is good to control your camera from distance. According to specification it is approx. up to 600' (180meters) but I have only tried so far up to 100" (around 60 meters) and it worked fine.If you mount camera on your kid's bike or helmet, you will have full control to start and stop recording and avoid situation when you child will messed up everything.

Habe diese Fernbedienung zu meiner Hero 4 Silver gekauft um die Kamera einfacher auslösen zu können. Gerade wenn die Kamera auf dem Dach oder in der Scheibe vom Rennauto klebt tut man sich mit ihr deutlich leichter und filmt vorher nicht schon Ewigkeiten.Die Remote lässt sich super einfach mit der Kamera verbinden, einfach an der Kamera das WiFi aktivieren, die Fernbedienung einschalten und an der Kamera die beiden Geräte zusammenführen. Wenn das einmal gemacht wurde finden sie sich wirklich ruck zuck und man kann sofort loslegen. Die Entfernung wie weit die Kamera erkannt wird hängt stark vom Gelände ab und vorallem auch wie viele Gegenstände dazwischen sind. Ich hatte es schon das 20 Meter zu weit waren, allerdings war das mitten im Wald wo ich mit dem Fahrrad über einen Stein springen wollte und die Kamera das Signal nicht erreicht hat. Aber OK, sowas kommt vor, auf ebener Fläche ohne Gebäude etc geht es auf jeden Fall perfekt. Man kann mit der Remote alle Funktionen auswählen die auch direkt an der Kamera zur Verfügung stehen, also egal ob Fotos oder die Videomenüs sind kein Problem, alles geht auch sehr einfach. Die neue Version der Fernbedienung hat einen zusätzlichen Knopf der euch nur in Verbindung mit der neuen Hero 4 eine Funktion bringt, wenn ihr die Hero3 habt könnt ihr diese kaufen da sich die Preise doch etwas unterscheiden oder ihr nehmt gleich das zukunftssichere neue Modell.Der Preis allgemein ist nicht gerade billig, für 85€ muss ich wirklich sagen ist es schon ein stolzer Preis, allerdings ist es einfacher in gewissen Situationen damit die Aufnahme zu starten als über die Kamera direkt oder das Smartphone.Empfehlen würde ich euch eventuell noch ein Silikonetui wo ihr die Remote reinstecken könnt, dann ist sie zusätzlich geschützt, Wasserdicht sollte sie ja laut Herstellerangabe sein aber die genauen Bedingungen entnehmt ihr bitte von der Hersteller Homepage.Der Akku selbst reicht auf jeden Fall sehr lange, ihr müsst nur bevor ihr die Kamera ausschaltet auch das W-Lan deaktivieren da die Kamera sonst auf ein Signal wartet und das WiFi weiterhin aktiv ist, das zieht euch ruck zuck den Akku der Kamera leer, das ist mir schon ein paar mal passiert und ist sehr ärgerlich. Ist aber natürlich gut um die Kamera wieder zu aktivieren ohne zu ihr laufen zu müssen.Alles in allem finde ich das Teil einfach eine super Ergänzung, der Preis ist naja, weiß man aber ja bereits vorher und es ist ein originales Zubehör. Dazu bekommt man dann noch ein Ladekabel das man per USB mit einem Laptop oder Smartphone Netzstecker verbinden kann. Das Klett-Band selbst lässt sich auch am Arm bequem tragen, man kann es allerdings auch am Lenker etc. festmachen. Zusätzlich gibt es noch einen Clip den man unten in die Ladeöffnung steckt, damit kann man sie zusätzlich sichern, das Eisenteil rastet im inneren ein, sitzt dann bombenfest und lässt sich nur lösen wenn man auf der Rückseite einen kleinen Hebel betätigt. Wenn man es weis ist es sehr gut gelöst.Laut Hersteller kann man damit auch mehrere GoPro's betreiben, dazu kann ich allerdings keine Erfahrungsberichte mitteilen.Ich bin damit bisher sehr zufrieden. Hoffe natürlich das ich lange meine Freude daran habe und bereue den Kauf bisher keinesfalls. Irgendwie finde ich gehört sie einfach dazu um die GoPro perfekt nützen zu können.Tipp:Auch an einem "Selfie-Stick" kann man sie gut befestigen.Hierzu habe ich durch die Nut auf der Unterseite wo man normalerweise das Klett-Band schiebt einfach 2 Kabelbinder durchgesteckt, anschließend habe ich die Stange des Selfie-Sticks darüber gelegt und die Kabelbinder zusammengezogen, die enden einfach abzwicken mit einem Seidenschneider und die scharfen kannten gegebenenfalls mit einem Feuerzeug etwas anwärmen damit man sich nicht verletzen kann. Fertig ist die perfekte Halterung für einen Cent - Betrag.Über eine Bewertung würde ich mich sehr freuen, Kritik nehme ich gerne an. Bei Fragen bin ich gerne bereit zu Helfen.Update:Mittlerweile besitze ich noch eine Hero 4 Session, auch mit dieser Kamera verbindet die Fernbedienung sich problemlos. Die Steuerung ist hier leider etwas fummelig da die Session nur eine ganz kleine Anzeige hat, dafür kann aber die Fernbedienung nichts ;)
