Review for GORWARE Stair Railing Indoor,6FT Pipe Stair Handrail,440LBS Load Capacity Black Galvanized Iron Hand Rail, Industrial Wall Mounted Metal Staircase Handrail for Stairs Porch, Safety Handle. The biggest problem with this handrail is that the brackets are at a fixed distance. For a handrail to be sturdy, the screws must be installed into wood studs inside the wall. That is hard to do with this type of handrail unless you first install a wood board at the location of the handrail. Then the board is installed into studs and the handrail attaches to the board. If you get a longer handrail, then it will come sections. I don't have any problem with the sections, as the pipe ends insert into each other, creating a strong joint. (Some of my other handrails screw together, and the joint may become weak over time.)Don't use their provided anchors. They are not going to be strong enough to hold someone's weight if they fall and grab the handrail. If you don't want to add a wood board under this handrail (for added strength), then do get stronger anchors with a higher weight capacity. The screws provided don't match the color of the handrail, which is distracting.

I have an odd place on my stairs that needed a short handle for support. This bar was the perfect solution. This bar is very well-made and comes with all the necessary hardware for installation. The finish is matte. It feels good in the hand and is more than sturdy enough for support going up & down stairs,

The main advantage of this over other similar railings is that it's galvanized, so it should resist corrosion.I should have bought white, but I may spray paint white over this in the summer so it matches my porch where it's mounted. I mounted it into a deck post, so rather than using the included screws I used some nice long decking screws, and this railing as secure as can be.

Two big issues. First, we ordered two of these at the same time from this vender. One arrived on schedule, one was "delayed" We purchased these for a split level stairway in preparations for our elderly moving in after a big stint in the hospital and knowing she would need them. At first, although concerned because timing was important we figured a few days might not be an issue. Much to our surprise several days later the vener cancelled the second rail with a note if we needed it to look elsewhere. Now we are stuck with the first one, which we installed already and now searching for a match for it. The second issue is that the anchors are tiny and awful as are the anchor screws, which on a side note are silver and would look awful. It was very clear in attempting to install the one we got that sure it might look fine as you slide you hand on the rail but if someone actually started to fall the chance of the rail not supporting them is high. We ended up purchasing better anchors and bolts. But in the end this may be a waste as well since we may not find a replacement for the second order and if so we have to plan on replacing all the hardware for that one.

The handrail components are nice rigid tubes that are powder coated. No issues with how they were manufactured. My concerns are with the fasteners provided. The instructions say to use an 8mm drill bit except, at least in the USA we typically use imperial measurements. 8MM is equivalent to 5/16" but that size hole is way to big for the drywall anchors provided. Even when a smaller drill bit is used the anchors will still spin when the screws are drilled in. Given the intended use, a different type of anchor should be provided.Additionally, the heads of the screws are exposed. So when a brown handrail is installed, there are silver screw heads exposed that make the installation look cheap.

I had to install this handrail and a few others around the house. It's a great product, and it looks good, too. I will be back for more I am sure...
