I always use this model to replace the inferior Floyd Rose "specials". It fits right in and is made of hardened steel throughout. You can feel it by its weight. It's heavier and just feels much more substantial in weight and density of the parts. HOWEVER, you will need to drill the stud openings up to 11mm. If you don't feel up to doing it yourself, get a luthier to do that for you. Or you can go to your nearest Guitar Center. They always know of people that can do the work for you. Also, the part where the tremolo arm slips into is also larger than the Floyd and the opening in the guitar's cavity needs to be opened up in order for you to have the full range in motion for full dives and pull backs. If you're not proficient with routers, get someone that's proficient and experienced. Or, watch a ton of YouTube videos so that you can see what needs to be done. And when you do attempt to do it yourself (it's not rocket science) take your time and do it carefully. If your guitar body is made of a softer wood like Alder or basswood, be EXTRA carefull when drilling out the stud holes and make sure you mark your drill bit so that you don't go deeper than required. And do not bang in the new stud bushings with a hammer! Use a block of wood between the hammer or mallet and the stud bushing and gently tap them in. It'll take longer but it's a whole lot better than what could happen if you pound them in! If you have trouble getting them in, run the drill bit through it again to make sure the holes are smooth. And use a slim file to manually upen up the area around the areas that prevent the full range of motion. Aside from the stud holes, you shouldn't need to do that much more work. And the result in the end will be awesome! You'll have a trem that'll stay in tune and will have pivot blades that will stay sharp much, much longer and will give you better tone due to its heavier mass.

This bridge is made with top Japanese metals and looks better than the original Floyd. The trem bar is a little skinnier and has less of an angle. I love it.

First of all I need to push back on the one review about the bigger mounting studs yes they come with bigger mounting studs but you can use the original mounting studs but if you have a, floyd special you may want to buy order from floyd the hardened steel original floyd or floyd 1000 mounting studs and just use them as for the crap about the extra long mounting screws I. The back that's, an easy fix too.Point is plan your builds and also for the reviewer saying it's ireversable wrong again you can take it to a luthier and have him redowel the hole if you like and as for the crap about the gotah locking nut Not lining up while there is a fix for that too just keep using your existing locking nut.Or order a genuine original floyd locking nut. If anything is pissing me off with Amazon its with guyker mounting stud kits it's saying it's for the gotah but it's not specifying if it's the bigger gotah stud size or not. And that Amazon does not seem to show or offer the gotah smaller original floyd size mounting studs which I know gotah makes and offers. So hint Amazon get it together with more clear descriptions from your sellers.

I have finally thrown in the towel on Floyd Rose originals. The tuning stability is just better on these Gotoh tremolos. No wonder Suhr uses these on their guitars.

Hands down..the best licensed floyd rose in the market.. never goes out of tune.. best upgrade for my ibanez jem jr white and it makes my guitar sounded even better even with the stock pickups. Huge improvement 👏

This is not a drop in replacement for a Original or 1000 series floyd rose bridge. the stud locks are larger than the original floyds and require you to widen the holes for them with a drill. the bridge itself seems to sit further back than an original floyd bridge and may require modification to the body of your guitar to fit properly. The quality of the bridge itself seems fine, It feels nice and the tunings pegs being angled back is much more comfortable on the hand when playing. Just be aware that this will require irreversible modification to your guitar in order to install this bridge properly.
