At this point it's a given that the factory shift boot in your early TJ has disintegrated into nothing but dust and forgotten dreams. Mopar doesn't even make them anymore, and some of the aftermarket replacements are so thin that they practically rip as soon as you install them.This one feels much sturdier than any other aftermarket shift boot I've gone through, and it even comes pre-installed on a new retaining clip (which is also almost certainly shattered if your boot is gone). It also doesn't have any chemical smell so it won't stink up your interior, either.

Bought this shifter boot to replace my old and worn out OEM boot on my 98 Wrangler. The boot fits perfectly, looks great, and functions perfectly. The material is thick and appears to be pretty high quality.Installation was simple and comes with the retainer bezel clip.This is definitely a great replacement option and definitely a great value.
