We have a KitchenAid Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer that has served us well for years. In those years, we've had the opportunity to use various attachments that make life a little easier. This happens to fall into that category. Instead of using a hand crank burr grinder I can now grind up the same amount is half the time and spare the upper arm and elbow workout.👀 I was expecting this to happen, and it did. When setting the collection bowl underneath the grinder, some of the flour managed to drift beyond the bowl's edge. I needed to place the collection bowl on top of a small box so that it was a couple of inches below the output, so that none of the milled grain was able to drift off.► The standard Kitchen Aid accessory connection is a perfect fit for the grinder. It slides in easy enough but once the attachment knob is snugged up there is no movement.► There isn't any setup is needed to make this function. It just gets connected to the mixer and works.► I found the user manual short but informative and easy to follow.► Before using it, I disassembled the pieces and washed them. The water remained clear, and I couldn't find any evidence of excess oil.► There are two slot head screws used to hold the front end of the bur section to the main body. The kit includes a small screwdriver to remove and then tighten the screws up again after washing.► The actual burr sections are wide and large which helps make sure that there is a more even result. So far, the only grain I have used it with is millet. We add some to the pup's raw food as per our vet's suggestion. Ancient grains are good for pups, but cooking the stuff is a pain. First, it takes forever, and then not all of the grains are fully cooked. With the flour, I can now add it to the vegetable mix as it gets cooked. Now I know the pup will get the full benefit from every grain instead of a good percentage of the grains simply passing through her guts.► I started at the finest grind setting, which ended up being too fine. Used the dial to change it up one step, and the flour was still too fine. On the third setting, I got what I was after. There are still nine more settings to allow for even more coarse grinds. There are 12 settings in all.Washing it up afterwards presented no surprises. As with the first wash, everything was easy to get and after allowing the pieces to air dry for a couple of hours, it was ready for reassembly. There is a brush included which has bristles set at an angle at one end which makes it simple to clean the burr inside the main body. This is a well built burr mill. It's easy to set up, wash, and adjust for the texture of flour I want.As I write this review, it's selling for $109.99, which, considering the above, makes this a good deal.

I got this for my mom for an early mother's day gift. She is a cook so it will help her so much in the kitchen. It's very easy to attach to your mixer. I am excited for my mom to use it. I am going out to buy her grain when I give this to her. She has used a grain mil before but it broke so I know she will be excited. I tried it on my mixer and it makes the grains so fine so its perfect. It's not to noisy.

The grind settings are exceptionally precise, enabling me to adjust the grain size of the flour from coarse to fine, depending on the specific baking requirements. The flour produced is exceptionally fresh, light, and significantly superior to store-bought flour. Additionally, it operates considerably quieter than anticipated, which is an added advantage. For individuals interested in baking or seeking greater control over their ingredients, this attachment is an indispensable tool. It has revolutionized my kitchen routine, transforming the process of grinding my own flour from merely routine to an enjoyable activity. I highly recommend its use.

I couldn’t be happier with the KitchenAid Grain Mill Attachment! It’s incredibly easy to use and fits perfectly with my stand mixer. I’ve used it to grind everything from wheat and oats to corn and rice, and it consistently delivers a fine, even texture. The ability to adjust the grind size is a huge plus, whether I need a coarse grind for polenta or a fine flour for baking. It feels durable and well-built, just like you’d expect from KitchenAid. If you’re into baking or experimenting with fresh, homemade flours, this is absolutely worth the investment!

This attachment was a total letdown. It barely grinds anything properly—just overheats and clogs constantly. Tried wheat and oats, and both came out uneven or not at all. I expected it to work smoothly with my KitchenAid, but it's more of a headache than a help. Not worth the money. Made a return.

I’ve been using this grain mill attachment with my KitchenAid stand mixer, and it’s been a great addition for making fresh flour at home. The all-metal build feels sturdy, and it attaches easily without needing any special tools. It grinds wheat, oats, and corn well—though keep in mind it’s not for oily grains like flax or sunflower seeds.I like that it has 12 grind settings so I can control how coarse or fine the flour is, depending on whether I’m baking bread or making porridge. It takes a little time to get used to, and it’s not the fastest grinder, but for small batches, it does the job nicely.Cleaning is straightforward thanks to the included brush and the fact that the parts come apart easily (just remember—don’t put it in the dishwasher).Overall, if you want a budget-friendly grain mill that works with your KitchenAid, this is a solid pick. Just be patient with the grind speed and avoid oily grains.

I’m just getting into baking with fresh-milled flour from grains I buy from a local mill/farm, so I didn’t want to go all in on an expensive grain mill right away even though i really wanted those fancy wooden mills. One step at a time ! This KitchenAid attachment turned out to be a great option for a beginner, because it’s super super easy to use. It’s easy to attach, and is actually super sturdy. There are 12 texture settings which is great, so you’ll need to give it a few tries before finding your preferred grain size, but you can just do small batches at first to try and stick to your favorite. PLaying with the selection wheel does take a bit of work, but you’ll get the hang of it.Flour did come out the other end all over the counter because my bowl was too low at first, but raising the bowl did help a lot so I suggest you put your bowl write under the section where the flour comes out. Cleanup also takes a bit of time since you kinda need to take it apart, but they included a brush so that makes it easier !Overall, this is a solid choice for beginners or anyone needing only small batches.

The KitchenAid grain mill attachment has completely transformed my kitchen! As someone who values fresh, homemade ingredients, this attachment has been a game-changer. It's incredibly easy to attach to my KitchenAid mixer, and within minutes, I'm grinding my own grains for bread, pasta, and more. What I love most is the control it gives me over the milling process. I can adjust the settings to achieve the perfect consistency, whether I need a coarse grind for hearty bread or a fine grind for delicate pastries. The quality of the flour is noticeably better than store-bought, adding a depth of flavor to my baked goods that I never experienced before.

absolutely love this grain mill attachment for my KitchenAid stand mixer! It was incredibly easy to set up and feels sturdy and well-made. I’ve used it to grind wheat, oats, and even buckwheat, and it handles everything with ease. The texture is adjustable, so whether I need fine flour for bread or a coarser grind for cereals, it delivers consistently great results. What I appreciate most is how much fresher the flour tastes compared to store-bought. It’s also a huge plus to be able to control exactly what goes into our baking—no additives, just pure whole grains. Cleanup is quick and straightforward, and the attachment doesn’t take up much space. This attachment has quickly become one of my favorite KitchenAid accessories. I'm new to milling and baking with fresh-milled flour, so I didn't want to drop hundreds on a stand-alone grain mill in case I decided not to keep up with this hobby. Luckily I am able to try out this unit at what I think is a great price point for entry.Pros:- It's a lot quieter than I expected- Takes up much less space than a stand-alone mill- Competitive priceCons:- Runs hot and with a burny smell. The product description says not to run it for more than 45 minutes without taking a break for it to cool down. I only ran it for about 10 minutes before taking a break because I was afraid of burning out the motor or burning down my kitchen. Luckily, that was enough time to grind what I needed for that day.- Adjustment wheel is finicky. It's hard to get it to move; you have to kind of mess with it. After the first use, the knob sits crooked now. I may need to try to take it apart and reassemble it to get a better fit.Overall, I recommend this product for light use. If you're going to be baking bread several times a week, you might want to invest in a separate mill. I'm hoping this will hold up for me until I'm more "ingrained" in FMF baking.
