I bought this to replace a "working" Cisco SPA122 ATA which didn't support the features I required. After reading about various ATAs this relatively low cost one supported my specific requirements to operate a classic Northern Electric 3 slot dial payphone (home use modified) in addition to my POTS (plain old telephone service) electronic phones. I'm on a single line VOIP system on for my home with a few wired phones connected, all but the one are modern DTMF phones with their own power adapters and electronic ringers. This version is a V2, which after reading several set up instructions is able to do what I wanted to do but turns out to have a different interface than what many user posts have previously covered. Not to worry, I found the settings required in the updated interface. The one aspect here is V1 interface is better documented in forums etc. The other seems there's no option for MAC Address cloning in the V2 that was present in V1, or at least in the present version of firmware I am running. I didn't need MAC Address cloning but if you do check it has been made available before choosing the V2 over V1. To find a setting there is a useful search feature in the GUI.It boots relatively quickly and is responsive. Other users which have used the V1 have commented it seems to be snappier to use the V2. I can say it's snappier than the SPA122 I was using which took a few minutes longer to boot up and connect. Using the web GUI on the SPA122 at times would also cause an uncommanded reboot. Not a good sign. I have not had this issue with the HT802V2.Ok so about those specific features. I wanted to use pulse dialing from a rotary dial payphone and I wanted it to ring the mechanical electrical bells in the payphone when receiving calls. Two options that are available on the HT802V2 are to accept pulse dialing and also to increase the REN (receiver equivalence number) output sufficiently at least to drive one phone with bells. No problems with the pulse. The bell output is just sufficient enough to drive a dual coil 70's vintage ITT bell on it's lowest sprung adjustment. In general a success, but I'd say if you want to drive more phones with bells you're probably going need to boost the REN again with a dedicated ring booster. Insert expensive device here...As for set up instructions do yourself a favor and download the HT80x Administrator Guide from the Grandstream Document Center website. The basic User Guide also available is just that, basic. In summary it solved my specific use case and it appears to be snappier and more stable than my previous ATA. As such at the price, I gave it 5 stars for solving my issue and appearing to perform better overall. If there was anything I'd want to be added to further improve the product it would be to further increase the REN voltage available and the return of MAC Address cloning option in V2 for those who need it.

Works fine with my VoIP service. You need a bit of knowledge and the box needs some configs before it works with a VoIP service but there's plenty of guide on the internet to help with that.

Ordered this product to replace a dead HT802. One thing I noticed right away, is that the management interface is much snappier than the interface on the old HT802. On the old unit had to use http to manage unit as using https, was very slow. Not so on the V2 unit. Very satisfied with this unit.
