They also feature Hypalon grommets which are lighter and hold up better than brass grommets.

Love my Granite Gear Toughsacks Stuff Sack! It is perfect for holding my wooden Mahjong boards that my dad made! It is the perfect size, strength and keeps the holders together and keeps them clean! Looks nice and is handy for when we want to play. Thanks Granite Gear for a well made, durable product!

Bought this bag to keep my wool emergency blanket in . It seems to be water resistant although it doesn't say so anywhere that I saw . It appears to be a synthetic material, nylon if I had my guess . The seams are well sewn and tight . A draw string closure at the top with a long enough small woven rope to wrap around the bag and tie it to keep whatever you have inside secure . Personally i thought the price was a little high for the bag even tho i feel it is well made . It comes in a small zippered pouch part mesh and part nylon with a tag inside that says made in china . I didnt see a made in tag on the bag its self but i wasnt really looking for one . Even thinking it was pricey i bought it because it was the only one i could find with the right dimensions i needed . I think the bag would last a long time if half way taken care of .

I am trying to get my gear as small and lightweight as possible for a bike tour next year. In this one small, almost weightless bag I was able to fit a ultra light sleeping bag a light blanket and a blow up pillow. It fits perfectly rolled up in my air mattress. I am glad I took the chance and bought it. It is also very tough which means no breaks, no coming apart at the seams. It also seems like it will be water resistant if not tight (yet to be seen). I'm impressed. I will now be ordering another one for my tent and one for my clothes. I liked these bags so much I bought two more. One is the perfect size for three changes of bicycle riding clothes. The other one will be for dirty clothes. I will have to get the next size up for my tent bag or use a much heavier compression bag.

Wish I would have read more carefully. The description made me think that you got multiple bags for the price. I only received one #2 bag. For this price it is a horrible rip off. Wish I could return it but I was away when I ordered it and it's not worth the cost to return.

I have half a dozen or so of these stuff sacks in varying colors/sizes and they're all perfect! Strong, water-resistant, rip-stop fabric and the draw-string is solid too. I use the #10's for my sleeping pads (yoga mat and reflective bubble wrap) when I'm backpacking/camping. The only down-side is the fact that you cannot select the color you want as you're ordering... They are just listed as "assorted colors" and you get what you get. Although, because the color of the bag doesn't detract from it's functionality, it doesn't lose any stars :-) Naturally, I was after the dark green one that is pictured to go with the other dark green one I already had... I don't quite know if it was by luck or by divine intervention, but I got the color I wanted :-P Bottom line, these bags are awesome and I highly recommend them!

The pictured item is a dark green. The item I received was bright red. I don't carry bright colored gear into the back country. I believe the tough sack would have been what I was looking for otherwise, but no choice of colors was offered, only the above picture which was what I assumed I was getting. I have since then read other similar negative reviews on products from Granite Gear, no choice of color for the product.

I pack a 19 L backpack as my only bag on trips, so space is essential. I used to use a LokSak to compress my clothes, but after a couple of months of travel it looked pretty gross and I had trouble getting it to seal. Then I tried using a couple of pouches and mostly just stuffing my clothes down into the corners of the bag, but that made things messy. So far the Tough Sack #2 is great for keeping my clothes organized and small. I can fit in my spare underwear, socks, and shirt easily. I use the case it came in for cosmetics as another reviewer suggested. It's mesh on one side and has loops on either end. I tried to use the sack for storing laundry in-between washes, but the smell stuck to it for a long time, so I won't do that again. Otherwise it seems well-made and I hope it lasts for many trips to come.

This is a wonderful product. I have one in the 3Liter size, and I find it very useful. When I'm traveling, I "stuff" socks, underwear, and other things that can be wrinkled in to one of these bags. It helps to organize my bag, and it saves space via compression. On that note, I stuff mine full hard, very hard. The bag is like a log of wood once I've packed it full, and it doesn't seem to be showing any signs of wear after 1 year of solid use. That's a huge plus (and what you'd expect from what the bag promises). As a trip progresses, I like to use the bag as a dirty laundry bag (because if it's going in the laundry, I don't care if it's wrinkled or not). This allows me to segregate my clothing, and, at the end of the trip repack my bag with clean and dirty clothing, and make sure the clean clothing stays clean.Off the top of my head, what could I fit in the 3 liter:3 pairs of dress socks3 pairs boxer briefs1 pair of athletic shorts1 long sleeve tech tee2 men's swimsuits (not board shorts, smaller suits)1 pair of goggles(I think that's everything. I can't remember perfectly, and it may very well be that I fit one or two more pieces of clothing in there). Some additional thoughts:The bag doesn't hold any smell in my experience. Like I said, I pack it full of dirty clothing, and I've never felt like it held a dirty smell. It's pretty water resistant (I'm not sure why some reviewers are deducting stars because the bag isn't waterproof -- I don't see where it makes that claim in the description). I've used the bag to hold a wet towel, swimsuit, and/or super sweaty clothing, and the moisture stays in the bag just fine. When I use the bag in this manner, I do give it a quick rinse (sweat, yuck!). When rinsing the bag, I typically fill it with water, swirl the water around, then turn the bag inside out to dry. You'll notice I said "fill it with water," and that's because the bag is in fact so water resistant that it fills and holds water pretty well. You'll get some water start dripping through the seam at the bottom, but not bad. In a pinch, it could work as a bladder to carry water from a water source to a camp fire. Maybe some of you gear junkies might even try hitting it with some water-proofing spray; in that case, the bag may not leak at all, but you are getting beyond its intended use.Having said all that, I love mine, and I'm going to get another. My only really minor complaint is that I'd like to see a handle sewn to the side. Like a simple piece of webbing tacked at the ends and running the length of the bag. It would make it easier to strap to my pack. And, you can strap it to your pack without worries, because the material is strong enough to take a beating.Great bag. Worth the money. Enjoy it.
