This works really well for getting at the undercoat on my cat. I gently use it to get that hair that sometimes doesn't come out with just a brush. Just be gentle and lay it more flat to the body instead of straight up. It is nice and sturdy so it should last for some time.

A good comb is a must to help give the cats a little boost in their grooming habits, especially ones who are long-haired or touched by laziness. With fifteen cats, it's just nice to be able to get a decent comb like this to help with shedding so there's a little less fur everywhere. The handle of this comb is smooth and wooden, and the bristles are metal, so you need to be mindful of pressure when using. It glides through longer coats beautifully and gently helps with any tangles or snags. Durable construction and works well.

I have a long haired yellow cat that gets an impacted under coat pretty easily. This comb helps get that out easily. Can't say enough good things about this comb. It feels good in your hand too and feels well made.

Not that great. I mean it is a detangling comb but it is not that great. I mean it worked to a point I am just not that impressed with it and to be honest it looks and feels kind of cheap.

I volunteer with our local animal shelter and about a week ago they had a beautiful but older short hair tortoiseshell come in. Although sweet as sugar, her hair was just about 100% matted. I used the brush there, then a pick followed by a flea comb, using one then the other in various combinations. A waterless shampoo did help but it was a long process to get even one mat to break down and come out. Today I tried this comb as another alternative. In about 10 minutes I combed out more mats clumps than I had since I started. It didn't seem to pull and make her 'meow' to let me know that hurt. I didn't try to get them all in one day, she will be an ongoing project for the next few days but this comb will make her soft and mat-less all over. This is the best comb for mats ever!

The comb is really small. I wouldn't use this on anything larger than a corgi, but it works extremely well at getting at loose fur in the undercoat. Some combs don't do dig that deep, but the metal and the fine tooths lets it get in there and get the hairs out.
