I normally don't write reviews, but I had bought this book to practice my Japanese writing and get used to proper spacing for Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji. It serves that purpose perfectly, although 1cm square is a bit larger than I would have liked. I was actually in the market for 8mm square, which another review of this book claimed was the actual size. However, upon purchase I found out it actually was about 11mm.So I'm using the pages a bit faster than I would like having to write out my kana so huge, but hopefully 110 pages is enough to engrain proper spacing into my muscle memory and I can return to standard college rule notebooks, able to write legibly without grids.

upon measuring, I found out that the actual length of the side of a square is about 0.81 centimeters, even though it says it's 1cm and has 1cm grid lines on the cover
