Angle guide for base is ineffective. The angle adjustment changes the angle of the black plate, but it does not come in contact with the base in such a way as to actually change the angle the file/diamond stone contacts the base (see photo). After a season of use, the diamond stones have worn out. Overall, poor quality.

Nice to finally be able to sharpen my edges between ski trips! Liked that there were 4 sharpening files included, along with an abrasive block to take off the areas of rust. Felt that the whole kit was priced very reasonably.

Of the 8-Piece Set, only 1 piece arrived. The diamond files, file and gummy stone were all missing from the package.

I am thrilled with this purchase!This is simply a multiple angle guide tool. It holds files and stones at multiple angles, and it can be used on the base and side edge. This is a wonderfully practical and simple tool if you understand the basic principles of tuning skis, and if you are not a professional grand slalom ski racer. I hear that professional grand slalom ski racers need extremely accurate edge tools, and almost every else needs reasonably accurate edge tools. This tool is for those other than professional racers.I highly recommend this product!

Had i known i was only getting one i probably would have spent more and got one with rollers - since i already have plenty of files, better diamond stones, and many gummy stomes (meh!). Not a bad deal if you are starting out though and still a good value for the money - but definitely not high quality metal or two file holders, like i was assuming it was. Two are nice (if you have a lot of skiers / boarders in the family) so you don't have to keep swapping the stone back and forth from edge to base bevel! But, for this price maybe just buy two of them. I'm not sure the metal ones with ball bearing wheels would work all that much better anyway.

Have been using the little Swix palm file but this is sooo much better for just a few dollars more.
