This laser pointer has a removable pattern diffuser cap. When the diffuser is removed and the laser shined on a wall 10-20ft away, there is an extremely bright highly focused spot- its beam diameter is small and visible over long distances.According to the product description, "The output of the green beam≤0.39mW, Class 1 Laser. It is within the safe range and does no harm to humans and animals.". There is a label on the laser itself stating that its output is However, the spot from this laser on a wall about 20 ft away is about 4-6x wider in diameter and hugely brighter than the spot from a different laser pointer on hand that has a label listing Accordingly, while this is a nice build and reasonably well-built product, until this is tested, an abundance of care should be used to insure that this beam is not an eye hazard and that it cannot be pointed at or near a human eye.

This green laser has an adjustable head that can be rotated to create several patterns. The head can be removed for a more concentrated beam. My cat loves playing with this laser. The integrated USB plug on the end makes recharging the laser simple. The housing is well constructed, and seems to be a good value.

This laser pointer is extremely powerful, and from my hilltop home it reaches town which is nearly a mile away ! Incredible ! On one end of the pointer is a USB connector for charging, which enables you to plug the entire pointer into a USB port to charge. On the other end is the laser output. There is a "gypsophila" filter on the output end that displays interesting patterns, and that can be removed to allow the laser to emit a single, powerful beam that seems to go on forever, even in broad daylight ! I wouldn't advise using it to play with your cats, and NEVER shine it in someone's eyes. This is not a toy. The first use I found for it was pointing out tree limbs that need to be removed to my arborist. Sure made life easier ! Great product and would definitely recommend !

This laser seems like it's above the ratings allowed for these kinds of devices, like many others. Please use some sort of protection when using these - especially without the star filter. And for the love of all, this is not for playing with your pets. You can see the beam indoors during daylight - that's a good amount of power that can really do damage to you. Treated with respect, this is an inexpensive and fun laser. Pretty solid quality and construction. Neat USB charging but wish it was just charged with a cable instead.

It is a very bright laser. The diffraction grating is interesting too. Good laser for the price!

This is a BRIGHT and the rechargeable USB plug built-in is quite handy. That said, it's not a toy, plain and simple - even with the lens (which is removeable)... this thing is frankly too bright to be used as a laser pointer in the boardroom as well. Could be used for outdoor camping/construction pointing, but be very cautious about (obviously) avoiding eye contact.
