How does it work? Does it require electricity?

  • It has paraffin wax in it that expands to open the cylinder as the temperature increases.
  • When the fluid cools down it shrinks and the opposite happens. So It doesn't require electricity.

It was a little fiddly to set up but it works well. Great value, opens the window at the temperature I want, fits my greenhouse, is sturdy.

Avevo già acquistato questo meccanismo,e riacquistato proprio per la sua robustezza, facilità di montaggio e funzionante anche al terzo anno di età. Sistema che non ha bisogno di elettricità per funzionare,unico "problema" , se così si può dire,se la serra non può essere scoperta bisogna ricordarsi di togliere il pistone prima dell'estate per evitargli temperature proibitive durante estate e inverno.

J’avais pensé à faire ouvrir la fenêtre de ma serre avec une Arduino etc mais j’ai trouvé ce truc simple, efficace bien moins compliqué et franchement il n’y a pas photo. Installé en 10 minutes sur une serre alu ça marche parfaitement.

Wir haben ein kleines Gewächshaus mit Dachfenster. Der Einbau war sehr leicht. Am nächsten Mittag war das Fenster geöffnet. Abends wieder zu. So gefällts.
