My husband made misters from pvc pipe for our show cattle. I watched a youtube video and ordered this bit for him based on the recommendation. Drill the hole in the pipe and the misting nozzles just screw right in. It works great and saved us so much time and money!

Ok, are you still debating whether or not to get this? STOP! You HAVE TO GET THIS! This is the easiest to use product EVER and is built to last! I used to make a misting apparatus for my children to stay cool this summer and they actually drilled the holes them selves with this!!! Couldn’t be easier!

Used it to drill and tap 1/2" PVC to make a misting system. I was overly concerned about keeping the drill strait so the first few holes were done in a drill press. Bad idea, super easy to get in to the tap section due to some vertical lash and stopping the press takes too long not to over do it. Did the rest with a battery powered drill and the ~20 others came out great.

This product worked PERFECT. Super handy and easy to use. Just ease back on the power when you get to the threading portion of your plunge.

This came with misters that I bought that screw in. It made the job a lot easier and I wish I had known about it sooner. I've installed around 100 misters in my large yard to cool it. My fingers are getting arthritic and it made it hard to hang onto the little misters to to get them started before I had the drill and tap combo. After getting the last batch of 50 misters that came with the drill and tap it only took a little twist to get them started and it went so fast after that. My yard looks great. It loves the misters. I plan to extend the misting system now to the garden. The garden will flourish under the system and I'm looking forward to it now instead of dreading it.

Worked great in CPVC (PEX) to drill and tap for some little brass misting nozzles.Well of course, any old piece of steel should drill PEX easily. But the threading part also went perfectly with a very clean cut. Here's a couple pictures of my "misting wand." I reviewed the brass misting nozzles. You'll find the story there if you're interested. This bit saved time and worked perfectly. Love that. I hope this review was helpful.

I tried using this to make my own nozzle holes and even used a drill press to do it. I was lucky if 25% of the holes didn't leak. I ended up buying the pre-drilled nozzle attachments. Much easier.

I only give 5 stars if something is absolutely unique and better than one would expect. This item does what it is intended to do.I purchased some water misting nozzles so I could make a misting system out of PVC piping for my patio. I purchased this bit to drill, and tap, 1/2 inch PVC pipe for the nozzles. With 1/2 PVC pipe, this drill bit is too long to use the the "deburr and countersink" feature. Therefore, you have to be VERY careful to use a very slow drill speed so that you do not strip the threads you just made: as the drill is about to touch the back of the PVC you have to stop and carefully retract/reverse it.I Personally believe that using schedule 20 will not give you enough thread, as the wall of the pipe is too thin. Using schedule 40 (or preferably 600 psi pipe) gives an adequate "bite" and number of threads acceptable. After some experimentation, I decided to use slip couplings wherever I wanted a mister nozzle. I then drilled through the coupling and Pipe. This gave an even better thread and I did not strip even one.
