I bought this to inject a marinade in a piece of turkey breast I was cooking for Thanksgiving. Never had I ever had a more delicious slice of turkey in my life!

Have used this same injector in the past - somehow lost it over the years. When doing up this years turkey on the BBQ I wanted to make sure that it did not dry out. Used the injector and it was perfect and moist.

I got this for our thanksgiving dinner. My husband melted butter, some brown sugar, turkey broth, and his special spices to have to use to inject the turkey for thanksgiving. This injectors needle has 2 spots were when injected it injects in multiple areas. The handle was easy to grip and is made of a hard plastic. The plunger inside pushes down while you use it and transfers to the needle part accurately. After prepping the turkey and using the injector the needle unscrews and the cap unscrews to clean. I used some soap and water and it cleaned very easily. The turkey went really fast and there was no leftover turkey it was so delicious.

I have never used an injector before, so I was not sure what to expect. I just jumped right in and gave it a try. Worked as hoped.Price was unbeatable. Construction, although somewhat "light", made assembly easy to operate and to clean. I just hope that it will last through moderate use. Even if it does not last, at this price replacement would not be an issue.

really I should be ashamed of myself for buying this injector, not that it was messed up nor was it awful in construction , it was because I already had one, got to cleaning out my junk drawl , you all know which one, we all have them, but bamm I see an injector but it was bright yellow. I think this product will work wonderfully,, so I am keeping this red one too, you , I guess can not have too many, The product looks very sturdy, metal push bar, and metal injectors, but one thing I did noticed the difference is, my old one had better bigger holes for things like finely chopped up garlic, and onion, the red one, NOT so much, back to back you can tell the difference , but my old one is old and well better made, seeing actually I have had this one for 20 or so years.

Aside from it breaking after 1 use the metal tip/injector never quite fit right without needed a wrench to tighten it into place. I had it on top of everything in my soap supply box (few plastic bottles of oil, much more fragile glass bottles, few bags of things like oatmeal, sugars, clay ) so I have no idea why it shattered everywhere like cheap glass would. Another problem I had was the plunger, it didnt fit properly and while trying to suck up a thick oil it didnt have enough suction for the job. It also drips everywhere with oil or water. It does have two holes in the metal injector/tip thingy and a nice pointy tip for stabbing into meat, although I didnt use it for meats.I would find a better injector regardless of what you're using it for, even though its a cheap one you dont want THIS cheap one. Lets hope you dont ignore the bad reviews like I did.

8 month use update: I like the injector. It was inexpensive and it works. The hand fit and feel is great. I like the multiple holes in the injector needle. You insert and inject without having to slowly withdraw the injector to ensure complete coverage. The construction is solid too so the plastic will not easily break.Initially the plunger seal took some soaking prep to seal properly. After a few uses that is no longer an issue. The machining on the needle attachment is not exactly precise. The needle kind of points off at a slightly noticeable angle. Still, it is sturdy, works fine, and does not leak at the attaching point.I've probably used the injector 30-40 times by now on poultry, pork roasts/loins, and chuck roasts. I inject brines and marinades to get the flavor deep into the meat. I have upgraded my initial rating to 4 stars from 3. The machining of the needle attachment is the only thing keeping it from getting 5 stars but it works absolutely fine, does not leak, and appears it will last a long time.

Echt starkes Teil.

I have used this injector three times with great success! It has been used on a whole pig and two pork shoulders with a brine and basting mix respectivly. It is sharp, and has three holes in the needle which I'm on the fence about. It's recommended that when "injecting" insert deep, and while injecting, pull out slowly. With the three openings the pulling out part get's messy once the top hole is exposed. Aside from that, it's a great meat injector. It breaks down nicely to clean and for my brines/basting fluids it's generally a mix of apple juice/cider/water/brown sugar/white sugar/black pepper/cayanne/cumin/worcester mix. I also use a small spray bottle similar to to spray the meat after the bark has formed before wrapping it. Overall it's a good injector, I would imagine that it'll hold up nicely to the type of injections I'll put through it (a water like consistancy) and like most specialized kitchen tools, I'd recommend hand washing it, in this case to protect the gasket on the plunger.Update 10/16/2015 - The needle for this product eventually failed after about a year of use when trying to puncture the skin of a whole pig while prepping it for a spit. I purchased the to replace it, however it was too large and I had similar complaints about the plunger seal on the replacement model that I purchased another one of these to replace the failed needle. I no longer use this for puncturing pig skin and just on already cut meats such as port shoulder/butt and brisket. I'm still very happy with the purchase and if I manage to exceed it's capabilities again, I'll gladly purchase again. I have not had any of the trouble as the other reviewers with the plunger gasket seal on either item. My second one has lasted about two years with no problems. I do have reviews on the spit I use and other BBQ stuff as well.
