I had to install bearings myself. So if you don’t access to a lathe, don’t buy it. Also, wheel is not as smooth as I would have liked. If you press even a little hard, it chatters and leaves a crappy finish. I should have spent the extra $20 and got one with bearings and a serrated rubber outer ring.

Bought as a contact wheel for hollow grinds. Had machinist bore 1 1/8" recess to seat bearing to mount. He used the 3/4" how that was bored by manufacturer (over seas). Seat bearings and mount only to find a shimmy in the wheel. Take it back and machinist mounts to his lathe. Find out the 3/4" hole that was bored was bored on an angle. Furthermore, the "hub" on the left was larger than the hub on the right which makes the wheel unbalanced. Can't return because we bored the bearing holes so now it's larger bearing, more drilling and machining to make work. An $85 wheel that meant for knife making now costs me over $200! Thanks for nothing Grizzly. HIGHLY DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM BUYING THIS WHEEL. I'd provide a video but Amazon must have limits to the size.

Haven't had the opportunity to use it yet as I need to purchase longer belts than 2" x 72" belts. It did slide on the spindle with ease and there wasn't any wobble should work as well as the 8" wheel.

I built my own 2" x 72" sander and used this wheel on it. I didn't expect it to be perfect (diameter and balance), but it is actually very good. I'd recommend it to anyone who is considering such a project.

The Grizzly G9242 10 inch rubber cushioned wheel for the G1015 grinder fit the spindle tightly and has very little vibration. It takes some practice to compensate for the small amount of vibration and lateral belt slippage (minor) to get the right grind lines so there are no peaks and valleys in the length of your pull on the wheel. Start with a scrap piece of steel or whatever you are grinding and practice until you are used to how your wheel performs and then go for it. The 10 inch wheel gives you better clearance from the motor housing when using the wheel for hollow grinding. I kept the 8 inch wheel as a back up. When you switch from the 8 inch to 10 inch wheel you will need to readjust all of your settings to reset your belt tracking.

This is the best buy of any wheel in that 10" size catagory. Where other wheels cost well over $300. With a larger bored hole and 2 bearings pressed in, this also became $300 wheel, and it also works great. I certainly made a great buy through AMAZON. Thanks AMAZON.

I've had this belt sander now for nearly two years and use it every day in some capacity or another. What a great addition to my shop. With the right belt is cuts metal much faster than any grinder!
